Today, while on vacation with my family, my mother told me to put my phone in her purse, so it wouldn't get stolen. Someone stole her purse. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my phone got stolen at church. FML
Today, I went to eat out. When I sat down, I realized I forgot my straw. I took my purse with me, not wanting it to get stolen. Someone stole my food instead. FML
Lost
Today, my mom was on the phone while we went grocery shopping. Apparently, her phone call was more important because she just left me stranded in the store. FML
Great timing
Today, I got mugged. As the guys who took my purse were about to walk away, my cellphone rang in my pocket. FML
Today, someone stole my purse and phone while I was giving CPR to someone who had a heart attack on the subway. FML
Numb
Today, I noticed that my mom had left the house without her cell phone. I called her phone to let her know she forgot it. FML
Today, my mother "borrowed" money from my stash to help pay for her vacation to the Dominican Republic. The same trip I'm not allowed to go on. FML
Today, my brand new iPhone 4 was stolen from my bag. I asked the bartender if anyone had handed it in. I soon found out that while I was talking to her, someone swiped my wallet from the bag too. FML
Today, I was volunteering at a soup kitchen and was advised to leave my wallet and cell phone in my car so they wouldn’t be stolen. Someone broke into my car and stole them. FML
Today, after working out at the gym, I went to grab my bag, and realized that my phone was missing. Panicking, I reached into my pocket, pulled out my phone, and dialed my mom's number to tell her I'd lost it. It took me until the last ring to realize what I was doing. FML

You'd think a phone in a pocket would be harder to steal than a phone in a purse, it's a smaller target and closer to your body. I'm sure at least someone had to have been wearing something with pockets.

This totally ruins the saying: "Mothers know best".

I always keep my phone in my hand or pocket.

Whatever you do, don't put your virginity in her purse!

OP can't because the mom doesn't have the purse. Problem averted :)

Also, virginity is concept that can't be carried in a purse.

Definitely sucks for you, but not anywhere near as much as it sucks for your mom. Its a lot easier (not to mention cheaper!) to replace a phone than the entire contents of a purse, which probably included cash, credit cards, ID cards, passport(s), etc.
