Today, while going up a ski-lift I accidentally dropped my ticket. The ticket I needed at the top to come back down. I had to hike down the mountain in flip-flops. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I went skiing. Trying to show off to some inexperienced skiers, I flew past them at my top speed, a bracket snapped off my boot and I slid on my face for about 30 metres. FML
Today, I was skiing really fast and there was a sign saying 'Slow Down'. Feeling rather good about myself I decided to jump over the sign. Whilst jumping, however, I caught my ski tips on the sign and went face first into the ground. Hard. FML
Today, while getting on the subway, I tripped over the gap between the train and the platform. My flip-flop caught on the edge, and fell into the gap. I had to walk home with one flip-flop. FML
Today, I went on a hike. It had snowed the night before so I wore warm clothes. They didn’t help when I slipped and broke my leg. FML
Today, I went skiing for the very first time and spent more time falling down than actually skiing. Despite the fact that I'm up here in the mountains for another week with my family, I'm never trying that again. FML
Today, while skiing, the creepy guy controlling the chair lift said I was pretty. I was so caught off guard that I fell off. FML
Today, I lost a glove while snowboarding. I got off my board to find it, when a bunch of kids took the opportunity to kick my snowboard down the hill, while yelling "Run, Forrest, run!" as I frantically chased after it. FML
Today, on my first ski run down a mountain, I dislocated my patella. Now I get to watch out of the window as my family builds a snowman and names it after me. FML
Today, I sharted while skiing - wearing a bib outfit and no change of clothing. FML
Today, as I was stood on an escalator, my shoelace got caught in the step. Panicking, I tried to pull it out, but my shoe came off. I had to awkwardly hop back down the escalator to retrieve it while everyone around me in the mall watched. FML

in some areas, ski lifts are open year round so people can take rides up/down the mountain and see how it looks in the summer, or just to enjoy the ride. that would be why someone would wear flipflops on a ski lift

GUYS!! There are places that use ski lifts that you dont acually ski at! Take Stone Mountain Park in Georgia- They use a ski lift sort of thing to get you to the top and bottom of the mountain. You dont ski. Its rocky, and you either climb or take the ski lift.

Ski resorts are open for skiing in the winter, then re-open for mountain biking and hiking in the summer when the snow melts.

... BC, yes. But skiing no. Obviously they went up the ski lift to see the view from the top of the mountain in SUMMER (that's right people, Canada has actual summer weather, we're not always under ten feet of snow, metling ice to drink water in our igloos, that's really only two moths of the year ;-]).

That has happened to me so many times, it sucks that you were wearing flip-flops though.. SO HARD!! And to #4, if you live in British Columbia, Canada, ski resorts are open year round - for mountain biking, horse back riding, etc.

lol, we're weird in bc. some people (mainly tourists) will go up the ski lifts in the summer just to see the view. it's very common for people to go up the lifts in their summer clothes, such as flip flops..
