Today, we got our progress reports. My physics teacher wrote that I don't participate in class. My mom got mad and grounded me before I could tell her that I raise my hand in class all the time but my teacher won't call on me cause he can't pronounce my name. FML

After #60 and #74... be careful because nicknames are very dangerous in the wrong hands, especially when they get leaked. and if your teacher is that stupid, they would probably also be nasty when creating one so take it as a blessing in disguise, live with the consequences. it's not worth the lifelong hassle, honestly it isnt.

Nicknames are dangerous? Where the heck do you live, Soviet Russia? A nickname can be anything from Jessica turning into Jess (ohhhh how dangerous) to calling a kid who always skips around Skip. Neither is exactly dangerous.

I know how you feel, my real name is a Dutch/Greek hybrid made up by my parents (yes, they are ridiculous with names), and teachers really struggle with pronounciation. At least you didn't get called on all the time. I had this one teacher who was terribly lazy with names and only remembered mine because in the first 2 months I had to correct him every time he took registration. For 3 long years every single question he asked he'd ignore people who's hands were up and go straight to me.

he should have just given a nickname.

Is it Jorma or Akiva x3 ( Yor-ma - A-keev-a )

my brother told me I should spell my name xqrlzm and then when people say 'how do you pronounce that?' I'd say 'briana'

I have the same problem. My name is Tea. pronounced like tee, but for some reason everone always pronounces it like Tia. :/

That's one of the reasons parents should stop giving their children such crazy names.

so what is your name

There were these twins that their names were Lemonjello (pronounced Lamonjalo) and Orangejello (Or on ja lo). Don't feel bad. Lol

So unless you have a bad grade in the class... I don't see how it matters
