Today, I went to the movies with my crush, who had asked me out on a date. Assuming he'd pay, I left my money at home. When the time came to buy the tickets, he only bought one for himself. FML

Today, I went to a movie with this guy. He was late so the only seats available were the ones in the very front which he refused to sit in. As we were looking for two seats, he spotted one near the back and sat down, leaving me to sit by myself in the front. FML
Today, I went on an a date with a guy I met online. We were waiting in line at Starbucks when he turned to me and said, "Do you want anything?" Just before I was about to answer, he practically shoved in front of me and paid for himself. The cashier looked more horrified than I did. FML
Today, while on my way to the movies, I stopped at a gas station to pick up candy so I could avoid the high prices at the movies. The guy who tore my ticket asked for my purse, confiscated my candy, and then kicked me out of the movie theater. That guy was my boyfriend. FML
Today, my boyfriend wanted to take me to a movie after days of not seeing me. This long-awaited date involved me paying for food and my movie ticket when he ran out of cash again. He then dumped me as we left the theater walking to his car. Yes, I financed my own breakup date. FML
Today, I went to the movies with my boyfriend. We went inside the theatre and he saw a couple of his friends. Instead of saying hi and coming back to watch the movie with me, he ditched me for them. When I reminded him he was forgetting something, he grabbed the popcorn out of my hands and left. FML
Today, I went to the cinema with a girl I like. Knowing she has a bit of a soft spot for me, I was keen to sit in the back row. Too bad her sister tagged along, insisted that we sit somewhere else, and scolded me every time I so much looked at her. I ended up paying for the unwanted guest as well. FML
Today, I went on a movie date with a guy. He brought his mom. FML
Today, I went to see a movie with 4 friends. I didn't realize that I was the only one who didn't have a date. The theater row had just enough room for everyone but me, I got to sit in back of everyone else while they were making out in front of me for 2 hours. FML

I would be pissed if someone did that to me...Not because "guys are supposed to pay" but because the guy was so ******* rude about it...If we had agreed before that I could pay because I had more money or whatever, I'd be willing to pay and I'd get him to pay for me next time.

i'm sorry, it's incredibly bad manners for a guy to make his date pay for both of them. either the guy pays, or they go dutch (which OP was trying to do). if the girl OFFERS to pay, then fine, but a guy should never FORCE a girl to pay for him. if i were her, there wouldn't be a second date with that asshole.

If you do this EVERY time you go on a date, you're dating the wrong girls. I've been dating the same guy for 3 years, and we still split all our checks, except when we're treating each other on special occasions. Plenty of my female friends don't expect the guy to bear the entire financial burden. Your blanket criticism is a bit of a stretch in this feminist day and age.

It's not crappy for her to pay for a ticket. It's crappy for him to walk up and say "Guess, what. You're buying mine too." If I were on a date with a guy and he ordered one ticket, I'd order mine, not push him aside and say make that 2 and walk off. No matter what the gender is, that's really rude and thoughtless. OP, I work at a movie theater and while I would not suggest buying any ticket to that particular movie, I would've asked if you wanted to pay for both tickets and given you the chance to say you only wanted the one. You guys can cry double standard all you want, but this one's rude period.

Maybe the guy was sick of paying for her or girls in general and the girl didn't even offer to pay.. which is an issue in itself.. dont get me wrong the guy was rude..atleast the girl went up first to pay for her own ticket..i went to eat with my ex and her friends(while we were dating of course) and her and the two friends just stared at me when the check came...bitches..

Maybe the guy didn't have money and was embarrassed about it and that's why he walked away. It is inconsiderate, but it's no worse than all the girls who expect guys to pay on the first date
