Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Knackered
Today, the girl I've had a crush on for months invited me on a group hiking trip, just so that she wouldn't be the most out of shape person on the trail. FML
Today, my date for this weekend called and asked if he could bring his possible new girlfriend on our weekend getaway as well. FML
Today, I went on a run with my crush. She expressed how happy she was to have a decent running partner, because the last one kept complaining he thought he might throw up. We got to the top of the hill and I puked right in front of her. FML
That's the rule
Today, I was messaging a girl on a dating app. Things were going well so I thought I'd ask her to meet. She had listed hiking as an interest 3 times on her profile so I suggested we meet at a state park. She told me she doesn't hike on a first meet and blocked me. FML
First date hell
Today, a girl asked me out on a date to some hot springs, about 2 hours away. After a mile hike, the springs were finally in sight. She then slipped and cut her shin open. I had carry her the mile back and drive her the 2 hours to the ER, where her parents, whom I'd never met, were waiting. FML
Hell no!
Today, the girl I've had a crush on for a year finally said she'd go out with me. On the way over to pick her up, she called me and said she couldn't go because she was going out to dinner with her ex-boyfriend to talk things over. She asked if she could use the reservations I had made. FML
Go on ahead, I'll catch up
Today, a girl I met recently asked if I wanted to go jogging with her, and I excitedly agreed. A while into our run, I ran out of breath and doubled over panting, all while she kept jogging and slowly disappeared down the street. What a way to spend time together. FML
I know where I'm going
Today, I went on a hiking date with my significant other. Trying to be adventurous and assertive, I suggested we take a shortcut through the woods. We got hopelessly lost and ended up spending the night in a deserted ranger station. Turns out, my idea of adventure is not quite as romantic as it sounds. FML
Today, while out hiking with my girlfriend, she thought it would be funny to push me down a small hill. It turned out there was a 16 foot drop at the end of it, and now my leg is in a cast. FML
Today, the girl I had a crush on for the past few months called me and wanted to tell me something. Excited, I agreed and we went out to dinner. She wanted to tell me she had been secretly seeing 'someone' for the past six months. FML

Become workout buddies and take it from there... That'd be more quality time than most actually get these days... Good luck!

Did she actually tell you that when asking you to go?

It seems a rather strange thing to assume, so I'm guessing she did. That and the OP's username is "Crushed".

If she did tell him that - it could just be a cover for the fact she might actually like him.

Yea, I feel like she was joking and OP being self conscious didn't realize it. I try not to mention shape, but I often include a teasing comment in invitations, and in most interactions. She's probably just that kind of person; it's hard for me to imagine that a person exists who would actually invite someone for that reason AND directly tell them.

She probably just wants someone on her own level to hang back with, since she knows she's going to have to take breaks more frequently than the rest of the group. That way it's not just her and a crowd of angry fitness enthusiasts staring at her impatiently. I don't think you should necessarily read too much into negative implications. Especially if you guys do what many friends do, which is to regularly commiserate over the fact that both of you wish to be more fit than you are currently. (Which describes 90% of people, so don't feel bad about it.)

You two marshmallows can start the hike, run out of energy and go home together. Bada-boom, bada-bing!

Does that mean she feels good being with you? That's a good sign.

It sounds like an awkward joke gone wrong. Girls are often shy about asking guys out, maybe she was feeling awkward and blurted out something she didn't think through. I'm pretty sure I'd be capable of saying something similar.

Dude, regardless of what her intentions were with that comment, it sounds like it's time to start hitting the gym. Even if you're not that overweight, it only helps your chances.
