Today, on my first day at a new job, my boss asked how old I was. I replied, "Eighteen." She responded that she was my age thirty years ago, which makes her the same age as my mum. When I told her, she gave me a puzzled look, so I repeated myself. She was my age thirteen years ago, not thirty. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

This is fine
Today, I started a new job. As I was introducing myself during the morning get together with the team, I forgot how old I was, and panicked. I ended up saying I was "twenty-fine." I’m 27. FML
Timeless
Today, while I was in a bathroom stall, I overheard my younger coworkers discussing my age. They said, “How old is she? Some days she looks like she's 35 and other days she looks like she's 58!” FML
Small talk hell
Today, I told my boss her new haircut made her look younger. She smiled and said, “Oh, thank you!” I tried to double down on the compliment and said, “Yeah, like... 20 years ago younger!” She stopped smiling. It turns out that would’ve made her twelve. FML
Today, a customer complimented me on how good I looked for my age. She thought I was in my forties. I'm 18. FML
Low blow
Today, while I was working, my friend stopped by and visited with me a moment. After she left, my client asked me if she was my daughter. My friend is 32 and I'm 27. FML
Today, I was at work refreshing the shelves when a man turned the corner and said, very surprised, "You look 12!" A few weeks back, two people did the same thing, only they said I looked 9. I'm almost 21 years old, and just very short. Starting to get just a little self conscious here. FML
Today, the new guy at work - who is probably at least ten years older than I am - admired the photo on my desk of myself with my husband and teenage daughters and asked, "Are those your grandchildren?" I'm in my 40's. FML
Shorty
Today, I was mistaken for an 8th grader because of my height. I'm 32 years-old. FML
Today, my parents told me about how they met. I'd already known they were eight years apart, but I never knew my dad started dating my mom when he was 21 and she was 13. FML
They weren't wrong...
Today, I had a customer tell me that I don't look a day over 39. I'm 35. FML

these people are not grammar nazis, they just want to read fml's that make sense the first time you read them...not after like the 6th time.

I'm also really bad at grammer, and spelling. I read all these FML's perfectly then read the comments and people are complaining.

"Today was the first day of my new job. During the break, my boss asks me about my age. I say "I'm 18"; She answers that she was my age thirty years ago. I say "Like my mother!". She doesn't seem to understand. I repeat "You are 48, like my mother!". Embarrassing silence... She was my age thirtEEN years ago, not thirty. I misheard. FML" I think that's close enough to understand.

I've had to read FMLs twice to understand, but I've never had to read one over 4 times before I understood it.
