Today, my young son and I were in line at Subway. I guess he got bored and started to insult the teenage girl behind us. I tried to get him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. Eventually the girl punched him in the face and left. As my son cried uncontrollably, everyone else there clapped. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Lost the plot
Today, I went to Subway. A lady was in the line with her toddler. The kid screamed in his bid for attention, while his mother and the cashier ignored him, to the point that his voice became a loud screech and the sandwich artist couldn't hear me. I bellowed, "SHUT THAT KID UP!" Silence and glares followed. FML
Today, while working at Subway, a man ordered a sub with avocado. When I told him it was no longer available, he screamed, spit in my face and ran out, pushing over an innocent bystander in the process. FML
Today, my 15-year-old son got so enraged at a fly that kept harassing him, that he ended up slapping himself in the face as it flew by him. This caused him to fall out of his chair, at which point he broke down into a mess of tears, humiliating me in front of everyone. FML
Today, while shopping, my six-year-old son threw a tantrum because I wouldn't buy him a video game. I ended up having to grab his arm and leave the store. He screamed that I was kidnapping him, at which point I was socked in the face and pinned to the floor by three bystanders. FML
Today, while I was standing in line at the store, some guy insulted the girl in front of me as he walked past. She turned around and socked me in the face. FML
Great day out
Today, I went to the movies with my husband and our 6-year-old son. My husband kept stealing popcorn from the guy next to him, to the point where the guy punched him in the face. The movie was stopped, the police were called, and my son is now inconsolable. FML
Today, my son got a beating. Apparently, he went to a club, waited until he saw a couple of girls pulling a duckface for a photo, then rushed over and threw pieces of bread at them. Their boyfriends, not too surprisingly, didn't appreciate this. I had to drive the idiot home from the hospital. FML
Call CPS, quick
Today, I saw a kid throwing a tantrum in a supermarket. Thinking it was a matter of lack of discipline, I waited for the kid’s mother to come out of the bathroom to tell her how naughty her son was being. I then got to watch her beat her son to the point of unconsciousness. FML
Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML
Today, my son trained his little sister to walk up to strangers and whimper: "My mommy punches me." FML

Great parenting. Idiot. I hope the girl broke your loser son's nose.

Although punching wasn't such a good idea, I think your son probably deserved it. Let's hope the lesson helps the kid be a better person and learn not to mess with teenage girls. I mean, he'll have to learn it someday. If he had been older, the girl would have kicked somewhere that hurt more.

I agree with you now in days there are more bratty kids than educated kids. If one form of parenting doesn't work try another one.

both you and your ignorant brat deserve it

That's what he gets. I bet he learned his lesson.

Time for a parenting course.. Or 5. You have to be able to have your children listen to you - even if that means dragging his rude little butt out of there and you both missing out on subway. It's called being a parent. YDI for allowing the situation to escalate that far.

My daughter is 9 and if It was us in that situation, the first insult out of my daughter's mouth would have resulted in her getting smacked on her mouth by me.

And that's why your daughter will be a productive member of society someday, unlike the OP's son who will probably grow up to be a bigger loser.

He probably did deserve it, and I'm guessing that you agree because you let a stranger PUNCH your kid in the face.

Um you "tried" to make him stop? That's your problem right there. You MAKE him stop even if it means embarrassing him in front of everybody there, loudly commenting on how rude and hurtful he's being. Then make him apologize. If none of that works, you apologize to the girl yourself and take your kid home, give him consequences for his bad behavior and maybe he'll start listening to you! Your son deserved it, that girl did better parenting than you seem capable of doing.

That kid learned a fast life lesson. Good job! There is no such thing as trying to stop him. Put fear into him and then make him stop.
