Today, I found out that the money that my wife claims went into repairing her car engine actually is going towards helping her pay for a divorce. FML

Today, my car broke down. My dad insisted he could fix it, but screwed up in the process. After finally getting the car towed to a mechanic, I was told that I'd only needed a new water pump, but thanks to the damage my dad did, fixing it all will cost me a small fortune. FML
Today, I was driving my car like any ordinary day. My dad had been harping on me about not checking the oil, so I finally checked it. Driving down the road my hood flew up and shattered my windshield. I forgot to latch my hood after checking the oil. $300 for a new windshield. The oil was fine. FML
Today, my car broke down. The good news is I can afford to have it fixed. The bad news is paying for the fix will wipe out my savings, which I need to get certified for a non-minimum-wage job. FML
Today, I told my wife to not drive our car as it has a steering problem and is starting to shake. I got home from work to see it had a flat tire, and asked her if she went anywhere. She'd thought I was exaggerating and went out for coffee. I've been a mechanic for 7 years. FML
Today, for the third time this year, my wife backed into the garage door. We’d just finally got it fixed exactly one week ago for $1800 from the last time she did it. Somehow it’s my fault. FML
Today, after paying back the money my grandma lent me to fix my car, I stepped outside, only to see my car leaking antifreeze all over the driveway. I had to ask for the money back to fix it again. FML
Today, I took my partner’s car to fill with gas because mine was in the shop. Out of habit, I put diesel into the tank. We discovered it three hours later; the tow bill ate my weekly budget, the mechanic sighed through the repair estimate, and I spent the evening on hold with roadside help. FML
Today, I replaced the fog lights on my car and completely filled my gas tank. $50+ later, the transmission decided it wanted to go out. FML

And even if an oil change solved the problem, it would be short term, as the leftover soap in your block would be likely to prevent the oil from lubing the cylinder anyway, and then BAM! Cracked block or head and a hefty repair bill.. So ladies, who wants to lube my cylinder? I swear I don't bleed!.. Much

Drain the water right away, and let it drain for about 30 minutes. Fill the crankcase with the recommended amount of oil, and drain the crankcase again. This will help get any water on top of the engine out. Refill the crankcase with new oil again, and you should be fine. A little water won't hurt the engine. Condensation builds up inside anyway. Finally, I would change the oil after a day or two of driving the vehicle, just to be sure that all the water is out. Yes, copy and pasted this, because I couldn't be bothered to write it out.

Your wife is a dipstick. The oil spot is a lot harder to reach and pour into than the actual washer fluid container.. Truthfully it's her dad's fault. He should have taught her basic car maintenance. Time to fix his mistake OP
