Today, my mom said that if I wasn't her daughter, she probably wouldn't even like me. FML
Today, my boyfriend's family offered me the trip of a lifetime visiting their families overseas. My mother threw a tantrum, telling me that it was my fault that she was never able to travel, it was my fault that she got pregnant with me and had to marry my abusive father. FML
Today, my mom told me I'm the reason she's going to kill herself one day. FML
Today, once again, my mom ranted about how she sacrificed so much for me by moving to a better city. I said it was for my education and to stop making me feel like a burden. She scoffed, "Right, you never should've been born. My mistake." FML
Today, I went to a family counseling session because my parents are getting a divorce. I told the counselor that I feel guilty because I feel like I caused it. She says that there is no way I could have caused it, that it's my parents' problem when my mom interrupts her to say, "Yes she did." FML
Today, my boyfriend said angrily that he should never have gotten together with me, that he should have known a woman with divorced parents would have daddy issues, and never be quite right in the head. His own parents are divorced by the way, and his mom is extremely overbearing. FML
Today, my mother is still insisting it must have been my fault that my husband beat me into a coma for 5 weeks, because he’s such a "nice boy from a good family" with a really successful career, so it must have been me who provoked him into it. She keeps trying to get us back together. FML
Today, I learned that if you complain to your mom about your future mother-in-law's bitchiness, your overprotective mom might confront her about it and end up punching her in the face. My fiancée blames me for the incident. FML
Today, my mom got drunk and started crying, ranting about all the things she could have done in life if I hadn't been born. FML
Today, I asked my mother why she had me in the first place, as we never get along. She replied because my father wanted me. So, I called my father to ask him the same question, he said he only wanted to have me to keep my mother around, and that didn't work, so I was a waste. FML

Agreed with #3. My mom has once said that to me before too, but I have my utmost respect for her to try keeping the marriage together for my autistic brother's sake. My dad sure isn't the most sensitive guy out there, and I myself isn't in a good relationship with my dad either. But kudos to my dad for sticking around and paying for my brother's needs too, I suppose. I guess both of them are much better than those parents who dumps their mentally-challenged kids to the government.

Some really good points here, although to OP, it's not your fault she's having problems, I would assume that she meant they are staying together BECAUSE you are theree.

don't feel too bad. my parents were separated and getting ready to file for divorce when my mom accidentally (also quite a miracle) got pregnant with my sister. they've been together ever since because neither can afford a divorce. life is a living hell because of it though. parents just like to treat kids like crap. nothing we can do to change it.

I feel you OP, but no, you're a dumbass. You said it yourself, if it weren't for you she wouldn't be with your father. How is that in any way blamed on you for your parents' issues? Their issues are separate but they are still staying together because they love you and don't want their problems to affect you.
