Today, my mom yelled at me for going through her closet for some warmer clothes. She had a rant about taking her clothes without her permission, all while wearing a pair of my boots and one of my sweaters. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Fashionista
Today, my mother had a full-on hissy fit because of the clothes I was wearing. Not because she thought they were inappropriate, but because I was "stealing her look." FML
I'm a mess
Today, I went in to return a pack of socks. The cashier told me I couldn't return them. Then, I thought that she hadn't given the unreturnable socks back to me, even though she had, so I ended up getting all hormonal and angry over their return policy. When I got home, my mom got on my case too. FML
Today, my mother stormed into my room shouting about how I never go anywhere and then tells me to go out "NOW" and do something. As she is pushing me out the door, her boyfriend walks in. FML
Cart Narcs
Today, my mom yelled at me for trying to return a shopping cart to the cart corral. She then forced me to leave it in the parking lot. FML
Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
Today, my mom complained that I was being too loud, and she smacked my head really hard. All while screaming at me. FML
Sir Mix-a-Lot's mom
Today, I noticed that my mom had been hiding all my leggings and yoga pants from me. Upon asking her, she admitted that she was jealous that my butt is bigger than hers, and that when I wear those types of pants, it's like I'm "rubbing it in". FML
Today, my mom made me go shopping with her. It was freezing out, but she didn't wear a coat, boasting that she doesn't feel the chill like I do. By the time we drove home she was whining about freezing to death, and now I'm stuck in a house whose heating is set to "inferno". FML
Today, I found out my mom can't wait until I turn 18, so she can kick me out and turn my room into a huge closet for all her clothes. FML
Today, I took a shower and went to put clothes on after, only to find no clothes in my closet. My mom took them all and hid them. No idea why. No idea when I will get them back. FML
Today, I went to visit my overly-posh mother for the first time in many years. Upon arrival, she kicked me out because my outfit did not follow the same color-scheme as her decor. FML

Point out that you wouldn't need to take hers if she stopped taking yours

What a hypocrite.

Just out of curiosity, who bought the clothes?

I'm was thinking the same thing.

I don't think it really matters. Even if the mother buys all the clothes, saying that they are for her children and then taking them right back is just as bad as flat-out stealing from her kids. It's manipulative and selfish either way.

@14 How is that relevant? If you bought someone a gift would you feel entitled to the gift just because you paid for it?

I was more curious as to what the OP borrowed? If someone took my $200 leather jacket, I'd like to be asked first. Some clothes are more valuable than others.

@17 who said my comment had anything to do with relevance to the original topic? Did everyone miss the "Just out of curiosity..." Segment of my question?

Rip them off her like the scene from Cinderella!

So then flip out on her for wearing your boots and sweater.

She's probably not worried so much about the clothes in the closet. What else is in the closet? She might be hiding something in there and doesn't want you looking for it.

I'd be willing to bet your mom was the one who bought everything for you in the first place. She has the right to wear your stuff - she bought it. There's a difference between you borrowing her clothes and her borrowing yours, cause she owns them (as she is the one who presumably purchased them).

If you purchase something and give it to someone else, regardless of who that person is that item now belongs to them.
