Today, my mom yelled at me for going through her closet for some warmer clothes. She had a rant about taking her clothes without her permission, all while wearing a pair of my boots and one of my sweaters. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Fashionista
Today, my mother had a full-on hissy fit because of the clothes I was wearing. Not because she thought they were inappropriate, but because I was "stealing her look." FML
I'm a mess
Today, I went in to return a pack of socks. The cashier told me I couldn't return them. Then, I thought that she hadn't given the unreturnable socks back to me, even though she had, so I ended up getting all hormonal and angry over their return policy. When I got home, my mom got on my case too. FML
Today, my mother stormed into my room shouting about how I never go anywhere and then tells me to go out "NOW" and do something. As she is pushing me out the door, her boyfriend walks in. FML
Cart Narcs
Today, my mom yelled at me for trying to return a shopping cart to the cart corral. She then forced me to leave it in the parking lot. FML
Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
Today, my mom complained that I was being too loud, and she smacked my head really hard. All while screaming at me. FML
Sir Mix-a-Lot's mom
Today, I noticed that my mom had been hiding all my leggings and yoga pants from me. Upon asking her, she admitted that she was jealous that my butt is bigger than hers, and that when I wear those types of pants, it's like I'm "rubbing it in". FML
Today, my mom made me go shopping with her. It was freezing out, but she didn't wear a coat, boasting that she doesn't feel the chill like I do. By the time we drove home she was whining about freezing to death, and now I'm stuck in a house whose heating is set to "inferno". FML
Today, I found out my mom can't wait until I turn 18, so she can kick me out and turn my room into a huge closet for all her clothes. FML
Today, I took a shower and went to put clothes on after, only to find no clothes in my closet. My mom took them all and hid them. No idea why. No idea when I will get them back. FML
Today, I went to visit my overly-posh mother for the first time in many years. Upon arrival, she kicked me out because my outfit did not follow the same color-scheme as her decor. FML

Point out that you wouldn't need to take hers if she stopped taking yours

depends. ... if her mom bought them she kind of has no say in that regard.

It does not matter if the mother bought the clothes, if they were purchased with the intention of being for her kid, then they are not the mother's clothes, they are the kid's clothes, so they actually have all the say. It's controlling and manipulative to claim entitlement over something when you get something for someone else. It's almost like giving a gift, if you purchase something for someone else, it now belong to them, which means you need to ask if you want to use it.

You never know what she's hiding in there.

There is so much hypocrisy in parenting!

She's probably just being cautious, so that you don't find her hidden items in there. That hidden object might be a powerful back massager.

Why not? Maybe she just doesn't want to share this very pleasurable device with her daughter, as this is for her own personal pleasure.

There's definitely some skeletons in that closet....or just you know...vibrators.
Iris_River 15
If the daughter is old enough to where the mother can fit into her clothes, I don't think a "secret vibrator" is going to be much of an issue.

Not necessarily #20. My 14 yr old cousins are almost the same exact same size as their 43 yr old mom. Thin and petite. This might be the case here.

My best friend had a similar problem, only part was her mom would not only wear her clothes, but completely take them and put them in her own closet. Sometimes she'd get new clothes, only wear them once, and then they'd disappear and she'd find it months/years later in her mom's closet. Eventually she got fed up and put a lock on her bedroom door because she was tired of her clothes going missing. I think it's fine to share clothes, but ask permission first, unless there's a mutual understanding that you're going to share. Also, don't be hypocritical, if you use other people's clothes, you can't complain about them using yours.
