I'm probably being spiteful, but if she's going to be like that, I say you call her bluff. What she said is really hurtful, and you're the only one who knows her best. So, if she was saying it to emotionally manipulate you, tell her to do it and get it over with already. If she has a legitimate mental health issue, you should urge her to seek help.

My mom says stuff like this to me all the time 2. I am 99% sure my mom has undiagnosed bi-polar disorder. If your mom is like this ask your doctor or counselor about getting her checked out.
