Today, my mom hates my grandmother (her mother-in-law) so much that she's trying to guilt me into not visiting her when I come home for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't be coming home for Thanksgiving in the first place, but my grandmother bought me the plane ticket. FML

Wild Nights Out
Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Same thing different taste
All over the place
Today, I visited my in-laws, whom I thought I was on great terms with. I soon learned that wasn't the case when my mother-in-law yelled at me about how I've been abusing her for years. Ten minutes later, she hugged me and asked me for grandkids. FML
The first step is being able to admit it
Today, my grandmother hates me. So much so that I've become a rotten, desperate, and overall evil person with no thoughts and considerations towards other people. My family doesn't know this, but I can never undo the damage she has done to me since birth (as she raised me). I only care about my own well-being, nothing else. FML
No thanks
Today, after being repeatedly talked into meeting my mother and grandmother for lunch, when they were done they tried to convince me to let my grandmother move into my house, for the second time in a year. FML
Family Matters
Today, I already hate the holidays. My mom has been trying to be helpful, but has severe undiagnosed memory problems that our family ignores. They've also ignored all the house repairs, but have no problem consoling her while she cries how mean I am for missing her party, because I used my vacation time to fix the house. FML
Today, I found out my mom booked me a flight to stay with relatives who I don't like, and who don't like me. I leave in two days, and don't return until the day before school starts. FML
Life choices
Today, my mom is coming to pick up the Christmas presents we got for her and her husband. She won’t come inside or come within 6 feet, so she can be healthy when she goes down to the ex-wife’s parents house to hang out. The ex in-laws that hate me. Glad my mom chose them over me. FML
Parental guilt
Today, my mother tried guilt-tripping me about coming home for the holidays by explaining that, “according to average life expectancy,” she and my father could be dead in the next 10-25 years. I’m already coming home for the holidays. She knows this. FML
Today, my mother not only told me that my ex-husband will be spending Thanksgiving with her and my dad, but that I'm also no longer invited to spend the holiday with my family. FML
Shackled
Today, I went over to confront my parents about how my siblings always get to visit and all I do when I’m over is work on their house or take care of grandma. My mom was very upset. Then she snuck out with my sister, leaving me to take care of grandma until she got back. FML
All you need is hate
Today, my mother-in-law yelled from across the house for me to come quickly. She sounded frantic, so I rushed and asked what was wrong. She said, "Nothing." and that she just wanted to remind me that she hates my guts. She'll be living here with me and my wife for the next two months. FML

You're an adult (I'm assuming) and can make your own decisions. Don't let her guilt you into anything.

don't let your mother's childish prejudice against grandma hinder you. your grandma bought you a plane ticket and seems to love you lots, so go for it! on a side note, tell your mum not to involve you in her rivalry with grandma and advise her to settle it like a mature adult.

Wooooww. Typical. You should just tell her how wrong that that is to do.

If I were you, I would remind her that one day she might be the grandmother in a situation like this and ask if she would want you to act the way she is acting now.

Don't let your mom do that to you. That's childish. Especially if you don't have the same feelings towards your grandmother as she does.

Well if she doesn't like her, that's her problem and it's unfair of her to interfere with you having a relationship with your grandmother because of how she feels.

That would happen in my family

Sounds like the kind of drama that goes on in my wife's family. Her dad & stepmom drove over 2000 miles to visit us (her mom thought we should ignore them to spend time with her, even though she sees us every other day & weekends the rest of the year & lives 4 blocks away)
