Today, my mom called my workplace and told my boss to make sure I wear a hat so I didn't get heatstroke like I did on my last shift. I'm 25. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I decided to stand up to my bosses for making me lose money and work with heat stroke... while my co worker got to go home early I had to work 2 hours later. Turns out I got a supervisor in trouble for making me work when there was help allocated. Now I have to walk on eggshells, FML
Pinhead
Today, I'm 35 years-old and I had to buy myself a hat from the kids section. FML
Good Riddance
Today, while working at Starbucks, an elderly woman came up to me asking to turn up the heat. It was at 73. After explaining to her that corporate all the way across the country controls our heat, she's reporting me to corporate and is insisting I should be fired or she won't ever return. FML
Today, I was directing traffic at work during one of the hottest days of the year. Not only do I have to stand in the heat and exhaust fumes for minimum wage, I also had to endure people asking me "Aren't you hot?" as they drove past me in their air conditioned cars. FML
Today, my mom walked me to school to make sure I don't cut class. I'm 20 years old. FML
Challenging
Today, I accidentally showed up 5 minutes late for my shift. My boss mercifully declared that I would not be fired if I called my mother and told her I love her. My mom died 11 years ago. FML
Leave me alone
Today, I got a verbal warning at work for "having a resting bitch face." I had a headache. FML
Today, I was at work as a lifeguard. The temperature was absolutely stifling, but I tried to tough it out. A couple of hours into my shift, I passed out, fell off my stand, and crashed into the water. Or so the medics tell me. FML
Today, I fell asleep while lifeguarding, thinking I could get away with it due to my sunglasses. When I woke up, I saw my boss waving at me. Apparently she'd been trying to get my attention for five minutes. FML
So hot
Today, the AC broke in the kitchen of the restaurant I work at. Temperatures reached over 100 degrees and one of my coworkers nearly passed out. Our boss accused us of being "dramatic" and only let us step out after I collapsed. I need this job too badly to quit. FML

At least you know you have someone in your life you know cares, and know you know your boss won't let you get heatstroke again for sure. Get ready for some teasing coming your way op.

I agree that's awkward but it's nice to know that she cares. But I'm more worried about what your username means...

thankfully she's not that much of a hover parent lol if she was I think I would of found a way by now to move half way across the world so I could get some breathing room from her and my dad lol but thank you for the laugh

If you have gotten heatstroke before, it doesn't seem too crazy that she wants you to be safe...

That's my thought too. Not only that, but op has had heatstroke twice at her job. So the mom is not so crazy in my opinion.

My mom has been in a coma for three years. I'd give my left arm if she were capable of calling anyone and giving a crap. Get over it and grow up and thank her for being a great mom, K?

Why is this downvoted??

Probably because it's a 'it can always be worse comment' I'm sorry about your mother, that's horrible, but that doesn't take away anyone's rights to complain. Would you like someone to comment on this and tell you how they have it worse? I'd say no.

It's nice to have someone cares about you that much

If you're 25 you shouldn't need to be told to wear a hat in order not to get heat stroke. YDI

#30 I don't need to I'm a first aid attendant first time I got it I was wearing a hat second time the company didn't have hats available and they like it if you wear a company hat so I didn't wear one and got a mild case of it. which I was still suffering from when I went to work that day and when I got there and seen the hats I instantly asked for one after letting my boss know what's up

"If he doesn't wear it give him a time out"

Aw she's just looking out for you, considering you've had heatstroke before :)
