Today, my mobile phone wouldn't turn on. I took it in to the phone store, but they won't fix or replace it because the account is in my dad's name, not mine. He's abroad for the next month, and the only way to get a hold of him is on a number I only stored on my phone. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my cell phone broke. It wouldn't even turn on. I went online to access my account so that I could order a new phone. I couldn't remember my password. The phone company had an option of "forgot my password". Upon clicking I get a message saying "Your password will be sent to your phone". FML
Memory man
Today, my dad let me use his phone. Five minutes later, he had my mom call it because he thought he'd lost it. FML
Today, my dad took my phone away. This would be fine if I was 14. I'm 22 and pay for all of my own bills. FML
Blame game
Today, my dad tried to blame me for ringing an out of network number for two hours, which charged his bill by the minute. I rang the number, which turned out to belong to one of his business pals who lives abroad. He punished me anyway for having an attitude when I proved the call was his fault. FML
Today, my phone stopped charging. I panicked because I can't really afford to get it fixed, and it's too stressful a time at my last semester at university to not have a phone. I took it to the repair shop, and the man turned it off and on again. it works perfectly. I'm a total idiot. FML
Reported
Today, I found a cellphone. I went through the contacts and called the one listed as "Dad" to inform them I could leave it at a cash register of the store I found it in, or take it to the police station so they could pick it up. They then called the police, insisting I stole it. FML
Bigmouth Strikes Again
Today, I was involved in an intense argument with my dad. Just as I yelled, "You haven't done one thing for me", my phone rang. The same phone that, as of today, my dad no longer pays the bill for. FML
Oh, the humanity
Today, I think there might be something wrong with my family's cell phone carrier or cell phones. They use Verizon, I use T-Mobile. They use iPhones, I use a Google Pixel 8a. On at least two separate occasions, my dad hasn't been able to get my text messages. I can't afford to switch carriers or get a new phone. FML
Offroading
Today, my dad took my phone away because I "had to be texting while driving in order to wreck my car." I was too ashamed to tell him that a huge bug flew into my face causing me to veer off the road and into a brick mailbox. FML
Today, my dad and I had a yelling match about me "lying", because I was unable to contact iTunes support without a phone number. To prove a point, he went online to find the phone number. It's been an hour and he's still searching for the number. I can't leave the table until he has found it. FML

"the only way to get a hold of him is on a number I only stored on my phone" Reading works great too.

If you have an iPhone and you activated iCloud to sync your contacts, you can just log on via computer and get your dad's contact info. If not, you're out of luck. Sorry. Good luck anyways

Even with androids, contacts are backed up to gmail. Js

Considering dontbuysamsung is OP's FML name, I highly doubt it's an iPhone.

Wow. Thanks to your FML I just emailed myself few very important numbers that I would be lost with if my phone broke down.

Your friendly neighborhood dealer?

Do what I do. Memorize the phone numbers by making words with the letters associated with them. The best one comes from this girl I know. Her phone number spells "Asshole". :D

This is more entertaining than the actual FML, and actually a fantastic idea.

if you have his security code with the company they can still help you... If you don't well I guess its internet and a landline (if yiu even have one) for the next month...but he'll probably call first

Try e-mailing your dad!

9 already stated that, and was corrected by 13 because it says they can only contact their dad through the number that was in their phone

True..

You're the only person to ever have his number in your phone?

I was just thinking that and was wondering why no one else mentioned it!

Call the customer service number and pretend to be yur dad and use the password. They wouldn't know. If yur phone does not have physcial damage and u have had it for under a year u still have warranty. If any other damage and u have insurance then set something up. If no insurance- simply buy new1

Two things, first not everyone has the money for a new phone, and second, you can't be bothered to put a "o" in "yur"!

You should always have a backup of all important contacts. I highly recommend using Skype in cases like this. You can easily reach someone's phone with just an Internet connection.

Huh...wasn't aware that it was such a bad suggestion. Sure as **** worked for me when my father went overseas.

Maybe you can use this month to communicate with human beings face-to-face. Or develop mad hermit skillz.

Guess you gotta go abroad and talk to him in person. Vacation time!
