Today, I'm at home sick and someone is moving into the apartment above ours. Judging by the sounds and level of noise, they seem to be opening some sort of woodworking shop. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Today, after months of peace and quiet since January, a new family moved into the apartment below me ten minutes before I was about to go to sleep. They've been here for 30 minutes and already they're stomping and banging doors all over the place. FML
Today, and for the 4 months preceding it, my neighbors had been remodeling their house, which meant jackhammer noises every morning. The one day they take a break, my other neighbor decides to start a remodeling project. It'll only be two more months of this. FML
Out of the frying pan into a similar frying pan
Today, they're jackhammering through concrete walls at my workplace in order to build an addition. I'm allowed to work from home… but I live right next to where they're jackhammering down a concrete garage. FML
Today, and for the past two weeks, the people living directly above me have decided to add rearranging their furniture to their daily routines. Not only that but apparently, 6 a.m. is the most optimal time for them. FML
I'm only sleeping
Today, it's been three days since I started working 12-hour night shifts. My neighbors have now decided to renovate their house. They're focusing on the rooms sharing my wall. FML
Hummmmmmmmm
Today, I moved into my brand new apartment, only to discover that there is an annoying, constant hum coming from the ceiling above my bed. FML
Today, it's the third day I've been at home recuperating from ear surgery. My surgery was on the same day my neighbor started renovating. There's been hours of jack-hammering every day I've been home. FML
Neighbours from hell
Today, my new neighbours moved in. I've neither seen nor spoken to them yet; all I know is that they enjoy hammering at the walls for hours on end and repeatedly setting off the fire alarm. All this in the small hours of the morning. I got two hours of sleep. FML
Today, I learned that the gong my job installed less than 30 feet from my desk is being moved, due to noise complaints. To the office building I'm moving to in a few weeks. FML
Today, I found out that there's a very loud and frisky couple living above my bedroom, and a family with a crying baby living above my living room. At this rate, I'll end up sleeping in the bathtub in my own home. FML

Didn't even dawn on me till I read this comment.

Well, it clearly didn't dawn on OP.

Things don't have to be so complicated :)

between 11 and 7 they have to be quiet, else you can ask them to quiet down, but if you got same type of neighbours as I do who blas music all day and ignoring your complaints (got homeoffice) you just have to either talk to the land lord or just try to ignore it.. Sorry op! Feel better!

I feel your pain...I had a neighbor who didn't have a job and blasted lady gaga all day at full volume even when she was sleeping, or not even at home. I complained so much the landlord eventually moved me to another apartment.

They are moving in. What are they supposed to do, leave the bed and furniture disassembled and the boxes unpacked until the OP feels better? They can't really do anything for him, and all he achieves by making an unreasonable request is to annoy his new neighbors.

Which kind of wood working? Hur hur
THE_A_TEEN 28
Probably some pine. Or it could be some plywood. Or particle board.

Good response, I was afraid someone might take it sexually

Ebony. Sexual or non sexual?

I was going for the laughs! -Edited comment-

It might be a bit funnier if you were old enough for this comment to be appropriate.

Hey, at least I wasn't the six year old masturbating in that kindergardener teacher's class.
NoisyNykkii 10
Might I add that I never said that this was meant to be sexual.

When you feel better blast Skrillex music all day as revenge >:)
NoisyNykkii 10
But what if they start dancing?
ilaleahcim 6
I think it's safe to say that THAT's not going to happen. And if it does, OP has more to worry about than a bit of noise...

It'd be kinda cool if you gave them a sampled drum beat, turned it up to the exact level of their commotion, and told them to work to the rhythm. That might at least make it a little easier to stand.

Dude thats not revenge, thats a freaking blessing!

Get earphones and play classical music. You won't hear a thing! XD
