Today, my in-laws decided they were going to stay an extra week during our vacation to Dominican Republic next year. This would be fine, if we weren't travelling for our destination wedding, and the extra week wasn't our honeymoon. They are literally joining us on our honeymoon. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
This is gonna be fun
Today, my fiancé suggested we bring his elderly mother with us on our honeymoon. FML
Pushover
Today, my in-laws invited themselves to stay at my house for a few days. They live out of state and have been self-quarantining for months. The reason for visiting? So they can throw a party for extended family at our house. Guess who'll end up doing all the work and clean up? FML
Today, it's the first day of our honeymoon. My bride just informed me that she invited her ex-husband to come, so he can spend time with the kids. He will be here in 4 hours. FML
Today, I found out that I have to reschedule my upcoming honeymoon because my office will be understaffed that week, due to the boss going on vacation right after my wedding. Oh, yeah, and he's in my bridal party. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé's parents are refusing to pay for a honeymoon, because they "didn't have one, so neither will we", meaning they won't pay for a single thing for our wedding. FML
You really shouldn't have
Today, I was awakened by knocking on my door, only to find my parents standing there. Turns out, they booked two one-way tickets to visit me from another country. Their plan? I should scrap my upcoming 2-week vacation to hang out because they invested in this trip. Oh, and they didn't book a hotel. I'm 31. FML
Today, my fiancée decided to go on a "vacation." Our wedding is tomorrow. FML
Run Hide Fright
Today, my husband and I are here on holiday in Rome, Italy. We both made chit-chat to an older couple who are staying at the same hotel as us. They've tried to spend everyday with us, even going to the same cafes and museums, where we are. We now try and avoid them; we end up hiding. We're here for another week. FML
Red flag
Today, my boyfriend bought us plane tickets to Mexico for our "Honeymoon". This would be nice if he had proposed and if we'd been dating for longer than 2 weeks. FML
Controlling
Today, two days into our honeymoon, my mother-in-law turned up at our Spa hotel and pretended it was a huge coincidence. We are an 8-hour flight away, yet she tried to claim she had a Spa coupon about to expire, from another country. Nice try Linda you nosy, interfering bitch. FML

How about just telling them no? you gotta set the boundaries early on, or they'll just do as they please and never respect you.

Just copulate aggressively and loudly the first night and see if they still want to join you for the next six days.

Sounds like my mother in law. Get ready, it just gets better. Just get used to them being around... Like, All. The. Time. Sorry OP.

If they're not actually staying WITH you that additional week then you should just deal. Getting to destination weddings is expensive, it makes sense they would want to stay extra time and see something other than your wedding.

Maybe they just want to continue their vacation since they will already be there. Just call the resort and have your room as far from theirs as possible. Plan your activities as if they weren't there and tell them you'll meet them for dinner one or two nights. Otherwise, just avoid them.

I think that you should put your foot down, hun. This about YOUR wedding and honeymoon, not a holiday for your in-laws. It's just a line that I wouldn't let my in-laws, or parents for that matter, cross.

Yet another entry on a long list o reasons why I personally consider destination weddings pointless.

Op just tell them straight up that it is not okay with you/your fiancé. It's much easier to argue about now than when the wedding gets closer.

You're marrying yer man. Not his family. They don't get to decide if they are going to go to yer honeymoon. Stand up for yerself.
