Today, my dad called my by the family dog's name, and stared at me blankly as if struggling to remember my name when I was annoyed. FML
Today, I found out I was named after the woman my dad used to stalk when he was in high school. FML
Today, my Dad told me that I was named after the dog he accidentally shot in the head as a teenager. FML
Today, I heard someone calling my name. It was my neighbor. Turns out they named their dogs after my mother, my sister, and me. FML
Today, I discovered that my father is getting married. Overjoyed and confused because I didn't know he was dating, I called him up to congratulate him, and ask who she was. Apparently, his soon to be fiancée is my mother-in-law. My wife is not happy. FML
Today, someone asked my wife if I was her father. FML
Today, my supervisor at work is now my father-in-law. My girlfriend told me that. FML
Today, I found out that my 6-year-old son was named after my wife's "Favorite Uncle" because he might also be the father. FML
Today, my father called me to ask what my middle name is. He apparently needed to know it to remove me out from his will. FML
Today, I found out I was named after the woman my dad was having an affair on my mom with. FML

That's what I was thinking. You could rename the dog, but dogs recognize their own names, so it might be better just to let the dog keep its own name so you can call for it and stuff. Don't take it personally OP, the dog probably already came with that name. Men especially don't resort to those subtle insults when they don't like someone, so it's probably just a coincidence. In any case, it's better to just assume the dog came with the name, and he doesn't want to confuse the dog by calling it another name, than to assume that your FIL doesn't like you. And hey, even if he DID name the dog after you, maybe he considers it to be a compliment in his own weird way. Don't assume the worst of people!
