Today, my husband announced that he was fed up with us being known as the neighborhood slobs, and prepared to take down all the Christmas decorations still up from last year. He then decided it was too much effort, and that he'd leave them up to give us a three month head-start. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
At last
Today, on the third of February, my mom finally relented and let us take the Christmas decorations down. FML
Ch-ch-ch-changes!
Today, my husband suddenly decided he was going to stop talking about all the changes he needed to make, and finally do them. That's great, except that in less than a day, he lost his shit at me and our young kids for not immediately fixing everything about ourselves as well. They're still sobbing and he doesn't care. FML
Today, my mother was digging up our Halloween decorations, and found the Christmas decorations as well. She's shoddily decorated the house already in half-Halloween and half-Christmas style to save time. I guess we'll be celebrating Christmasween for the rest of the year. FML
Today, I came home to find my parents wearing Santa hats and blasting Christmas music at full volume. So begins three months of hell. FML
Today, someone put dog turds underneath all the decorative reindeers' butts in my front yard. The chief suspect is my curmudgeonly, holidays-hating fuckball of a neighbor. Last week he repositioned them in very suggestive poses. FML
Today, my neighbors coated their house in flashing Christmas lights and blared out "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" all day long. Only 29 days left until Christmas. FML
It's the most wonderful time of the year (nearly)
Today, ever since the day we met, me and my wife haven’t cared about Xmas at all except for exchanging a few gifts. Well I don’t know what happened but I got home from work and she had bought £1800 worth of Xmas shit and decorated every room and the garden. In November. What? Why? FML
For better and for worse
Today, my husband decided he was finally going to quit his job. We literally bought a house last week. His job is/was easy, with pay way above his qualifications. After we'd talked about it FOR THE 50TH TIME, he did the opposite and texted the dept. head that he hates the company and wants to be part time at most. FML
Happy new year, huh?
Today, my husband of 12 years announced that he wants a divorce and that he hadn't liked me in YEARS. FML
Third place
Today, my husband came home and sat in his car out front for fifteen minutes. I went and knocked on the door, asking what he was doing. Apparently, I always dump so much shit on him the second he walks in the door that he needs a little peace between work and coming home to me. Ungrateful ass. FML

It would be almost pointless to take them down now... But you should probably attend to that soon after Christmas this year...

Now that's a smart man. Theres no point taking them down this far into the year. But still a slob

Well, Having the cars and the tall grass are not helping your case for equal treatment. This is America, we are use to people being different. It really is the cars and grass.

At least you'll be the most decorated family in the neighborhood!

People should live how they want to for the love of God. I love Xmas decorations, they make everything look magical. Leave them up, there isn't enough magic in the world.

"My husband and I are known as the neighborhood slobs because we are too lazy to take down our Christmas decorations. FML" Your life obviously sucks. It's not like your neighbors have a reason to call you slobs.

I'm sure others have asked, but why don't YOU take the decorations down?

I know Noor's self-appointed cheerleaders/ass-reamers are going to bury this, but it has to be said: I felt my IQ crash through the floor as I read her comment. Sorry, no two ways about it, it made ****-all sense and failed to justify its existence. Now I'm even more retarded than before I read it. Great, thanks.

Why don't you help him take them down?!

People like you are why I happily live in a neighborhood with a HOA. We are required to take our holiday decorations down when the holidays are over.

**** that. Sounds revolting. What gives people the right to tell you what to do on your own property? I imagine you have to ask for their permission before painting the exterior of your house and have to keep lawns 'manicured'... Yuck!

46, I'm right there with you! I also live in a gated community with a strict association.(It's not for everyone) but I chose to live where I feel my house won't go down in appeal and value just because my neighbors don't care about maintaining their house like I do.(: My first home, I had people that kept wet clothes on clothesline and their front yards turned into mechanics shops with broken down cars that stayed there months on end.

So what if y'all are deemed "the neighborhood slobs?" They're probably jealous of all the treasure you own. **** what the neighbors say.
