Today, my girlfriend invited me over for the first time. I pulled up to her house just to be denied at the front door by her mum. She'd invited me over to break up with me, but had her mum do it for her. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me with a message that I had to pay $1 to see. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because she heard me say "love you" on the phone. I was talking to my mom. FML
Today, I met my girlfriend's parents. Her father looked me up and down, said, “No” then went back to his TV. My girlfriend immediately broke up with me and threw me out. I even had to get a really expensive taxi home, because we’d driven in her car and I had no idea what part of the city I was in. FML
Today, my girlfriend ended things. We'd had issues because of my communication skills and her confidence, but we were working on it. The last straw? That I couldn't stay with her one night because I suddenly had to go home and take care of my sick mother. She then asked to talk and said I was neglecting her. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me after a year of living together. She told me that she met someone else and wanted to move out. She moved out... but moved her things into my roommate's bedroom. FML

While in essence true, there is a limit to the ridiculousness of those requests. And also, the FML was not really about that request itself, but about the fact she broke up with him for him thinking it a joke...

If this was to be a marriage, what else would the Mother expect you to pay for..? You are actually lucky she broke up with you. If she cared SHE would have told her mother where to take a hike. She instead, decided to let her mother paint her as a prostitute. You deserve WAY better than that
