Today, my girlfriend asked me not to love her so much, so she doesn't have to try so hard to match my love for her. What the fuck? FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my girlfriend told me to stop saying "I love you" so much because it's starting to annoy her. FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend why she can't treat me like the way I treat her. She said, "because you love me more than I love you." FML
Today, my girlfriend tearfully complained that I was smothering her to death with my clinginess, and that I should learn to respect her boundaries. This is after she complained I wasn't giving her enough attention. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML
Today, my girlfriend had a complete breakdown. I was trying to calm her down and reassure her that she will accomplish all of her dreams. Her response: "Then why am I even with you?" FML
Today, my girlfriend and I were playfully arguing about who loved the other more. After about a minute of this, my girlfriend walked over and kicked me in the crotch as hard as she could. She then said, "There, now you don't love me as much. I win." FML
Trauma dumping
Today, my partner of 4 years has told me that trying to be emotionally present and initiate affection from time to time is too much of a change for them to handle. I wish they had said that the first time I brought it up, instead of stringing me along. Oh, but they "love me". Just not enough to be a better person. FML
Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me. Two weeks ago she complained that I didn't act like I really loved her. I then became more involved and caring just for her to show my love. The reason she broke up with me? Because I was "suffocating her with clinginess." FML
Today, I told my girlfriend of two years that I love her. She replied, "Um, I don't mean to be rude, but can you just shut up?" FML
Today, my girlfriend of 3 weeks gave me an ultimatum: marry her, or she kills herself. FML

That may be a valid reason to end the relationship. You don't want a relationship where the love isn't mutual.

Maybe you're pushing too hard, and you're at the early stages of the relationship, and she's not ready to return those feelings? Maybe she just couldn't word it correctly. I wouldn't say break up with her. I'd say try to discuss it, and see where the issues lie, and if there really isn't any hope of your love being mutual, then that would be the time to end it and move on.

It does just sound like you're being a bit intense and smothering. Maybe just tone it down a bit?

That's so weird. She might have commitment or intimacy issues. Take it as a red flag and keep your eyes open.

Either you're Overly Attached Boyfriend, or she's just looking for excuses to cause drama. I'm leaning towards the former. Needs a follow-up.

It's claustrophobic and creepy. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

#38, maybe OP is putting to much forward and she doesn't feel comfortable with it yet.

Maybe you were just smothering her and you were freaking her out ?

why are there so many YDIs? Y only DI if you're being clingy in the early stages. but if it's been a long time and you're just trying to keep up with the fact that you love her, then she's just trying to cause drama by being bitchy about it

Sorry OP but if your girlfriend feels like she has to try to match your love then you need a new gf

This really depends on the length of the relationship. 2 years: you need to move on. 2 months: don't come on so strong.

That doesn't make any sense. Does she even want to be in a relationship with you?
