Today, my fiancée told me she was having a bad day while we were lying in bed. Just as she was about to fall asleep I thought it would be sweet if I sang her a song that her Mom sang to her when she was a child. Instead, I was told to shut the fuck up and that I sucked. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my boyfriend was having a really bad day, so I decided to call him and try to calm him down. At one point, I thought it would be sweet to sing him a song since he claimed to love my voice. Before I could get half way through, he told me to shut up because I was getting on his nerves and just making things worse. FML
Today, I sang a romantic song I wrote for my girlfriend. She laughed at my soprano. FML
Today, I was putting my 2 year old to bed, and I began to sing to her. She reached up, put her finger over my lips, and said, "Shhh, Mommy." FML
Today, I was auditioning for a talent show. I asked my girlfriend if I could sing to her before I went. She said sure. Thirty seconds in, she got up and mumbled, "You're only going to embarrass yourself." FML
Today, I sang a sweet lullaby to my two year-old son. In the process, he smacked me in the face and told me to please stop. My sister sings to him all the time and he loves it. FML
Today, I poured my heart out to my girlfriend with a serenade. After I finished, she told me she'd come over to tell me she'd found someone else and wanted to break up. FML
Today, I was practicing for a choir concert that I have next week. My mom walked into my room and listened to me for a little while. After I finished the last song, she smiled, patted me on the head and said, "It's okay honey, I can't sing either." FML
Today, my boyfriend wrote a song for me. As he was singing it to me I realized it was actually a breakup song. FML
Today, after spending months learning how to play the guitar and memorizing the music to my girlfriend's all-time favorite song, I performed it for her. Her response? "Well, you kind of ruined that song for me now." FML
Today, I wrote my girlfriend a song. She wrote me a 13-page letter on why we should break up. FML

What she did is a preview. Get ready to eat a lot of shit. That's what you do when you're married, but she should too. In and of itself, it's not a big deal, but if that's her typical response when you try to do a kind thing for her, don't marry her. I realize she was having a bad day and if that's the whole story, then she doesn't normally act like that. But if that's her M.O. run, don't walk! So to be clear, if that's not the way she normally acts, cut her some slack.

Um, she was almost asleep. If my bf had done that, I would have hit him and told him to shut up so I could sleep. There is nothing more annoying than being seconds away from sleep and some noise pulls you out of it and wakes you up again, especially if that noise was intentional! You totally deserved it.
