Today, my fiancé's grandmother kept trying to introduce him to this "simply absolutely amazing girl," who she thought "would be just the perfect date" for him. At our engagement party. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Thanks, gran…
Today, I went with my beautiful fiancée to tell her grandmother, who's a bit senile, that we got engaged. Her response, "I know he's very nice, but think about the chubby little ugly children he'll give you." This was followed by a recollection of her ex-boyfriends who would've fathered attractive kids. FML
These guys
Today, my girlfriend of two years finally agreed to marry me. As I went on with the proposal, her Grandma tried rejecting me by saying, "These guys have gangster friends." FML
Sure
Today, I went with my fiancé to meet his parents. He was really sweet the whole way there, and once we got there he introduced me as "he girl I'm going to marry." His parents took one look at me and said, "Are you sure?" I laughed, because I thought they were joking. They weren't. FML
Today, it was my wedding day. Midway through the ceremony, my grandma, who's tried to ruin every relationship to date, stood up and shouted that "it ain't right", "you're too good for her", and claimed my fiancée has been cheating on me, before she was finally ejected from the building. FML
Today, the guy I'm dating took me to a dinner party at a couple's house. Halfway through dinner, I realized they were having the dinner party for the sole purpose of introducing him to their recently single daughter. FML
Today, my fiancé's mother tried to arrange a marriage for him to a nice Indian girl, again. We've been engaged for a year, and the wedding is in a month. FML
Today, my grandmother called me in a fit of panic because her new neighbors are black. So is my fiancé, whom she is supposed to meet tomorrow. FML
Today, my fiancé, his mother, my father and I went out to celebrate my birthday and our recent engagement. After dinner, my father and future mother-in-law revealed to us that they had secretly been dating and were talking about also getting married. Anybody want cake? FML
Today, I married the man of my dreams. At the after-party, my psycho grandma stood up, called for quiet, and engaged in a long rant about how this was "the beginning of the end" and advising everyone that the secret to a successful marriage is "cheating, plain and simple". FML
Will you…
Today, I invited my girlfriend over to a family lunch, planning to propose to her at just the right moment. My family was in on it, including my apparently disapproving mom, who kept causing a scene to grab my girlfriend's attention every time I went to pull out the ring. FML

What did you say? I would have lost my shit.

The worst thing that could happen would be your fiancé listening to her. Just ignore her :p

Wouldn't the worst thing that could happen be that the fiancé dumps the OP for the girl that Granny picked?

#26, shouldn't your "no, duh" be targeted at #2?

All the stories on here about the elderly lead me to believe that old people have absolutely no discretion.

4, "old people have absolutely no discretion" The ones who do don't make it into FMLs. Unless they write them, which I plan to do when I am one.

And they get away with a lot because people feel sorry for them. Old ppl have lived long enough to learn some tricks and to grow very, very brash.

Grams didn't take her meds. You'll have to excuse her. Don't forget to tell her about the "absolutely wonderful" retirement home where she will meet many lovely people like herself. ;)

"Simply absolutely girl"? What? Simply absolutely what?

That missing word was the sole reason why I clicked "no" while moderating the fmls.

Look at Granny the Pimp go! Trying to set up a threesome for her grandson and you! She's going into the Wingman Hall of Fame.

#39, had Gran fixed the fiancé up with two big hillbilly dudes who made him "squeal like a piggy," that would be the bad kind, I suppose ;)

#45 unless a lot of unsaid things happened which would have lead to such events happening.
