Does this thought count? Toronto, Canada

Today, my ex-boyfriend surprised me with a gorgeous, giant stuffed tiger as a belated birthday gift. I thought it was a lovely gesture until a friend told me she had thrown it in the dumpster behind our building this morning. FML

See this is why he is your ex-boyfriend.

It's the thought that counts...?

He could have actually bought a stuffed tiger which looked identical to her friend's, without knowing

I think this calls for a follow up. if he was already your ex, or if his actions made him your ex, and what did you do once you found out.

Giving a gift might not be compulsory but respecting the person you love is. I wouldn't suggest breaking the relation but you need to express your disappointment strongly OP. Good luck.

It's sweet he thought of you, but kind of weird that he got it out of a dumpster

he saw the chance and he took it. haha

is he broke ? do you usually go to thrift stores ? do you love stuffed tigers so much that you don't care where they come from? or .... is he just a douche ?

It can't be gorgeous if it's in the dumpster..

So it was only gorgeous until u found out it was in a trash can? What?

When I read "giant stuffed tiger" I immediately thought of "Calvin and Hobbes."

Confusingly written post. Did your friend throw the stuffed tiger in the dumpster before of after it was given to you by your ex-boyfriend?
