Today, my brother and I found a little bird that couldn't fly. While trying to convince my mom that it couldn't fly so we could keep it, I lightly tossed it in the air and it landed a few feet in front of me. Then my cat grabbed it and ate it. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found a tiny, featherless baby bird. I knew it was impossible, but I tried to keep it alive through the day. Before I could get it to the wildlife center, it died, and when I got all choked up over it, my mom started laughing at me and saying how "weak" I was. FML
You're welcome…
Today, I saved a bird from being run over as it lay in the middle of the road. Thinking it had a broken wing or something, I started carrying it home, intending to take it to the vet later. It crapped in my hand and flew away. FML
Just do it
Today, I witnessed the beautiful sight of a tiny baby bird struggling to take flight from its nest. "You can do it," I muttered, which I guess my asswipe of a cat heard as "Quick, go kill that bird and scar me for life, please." FML
Apex predator
Today, after we finished making my 6 year-old daughter a net to catch an injured baby bird, when she went out to catch it she witnessed a stray cat catch and eat it. FML
Today, I was caring for a bird that had flown into my window. I thought the poor thing wouldn't make it, when it shit in my hand, flew into my neck, then around my living room for ages before I could manage to get it out of the window. FML
Today, I watched a cat pounce on a small bird and rip it to shreds, feather by feather. It wouldn't have been any worse than mildly disturbing, had I not just spent the last 4 weeks nursing the bird back to health from a broken wing. FML
Today, I got a new cat for my birthday. It ate my bird right when we got home, then it ran away. FML
Wakey wakey
Today, I was woken up by a bird screaming its guts out. My cat had somehow managed to catch a bird and bring it inside. My 9 a.m. morning began with trying to catch a bird in my own home. FML
Today, I killed a pigeon. It choked to death on a piece of bread I threw its way. FML
Great lesson
Today, a robin flew into my window and died. My mom, being a biology teacher, thought it would be a great experience for my brother and me to dissect it on the kitchen table. She threatened to ground us if we didn't do it. FML

it probably died after you "lightly tossed" the damn thing. birds are fragile, you can't just throw them.

What the hell you doing throwing the poor thing?? It would have probably died of shock if your cat hadn't got at it!

Cats don't listen to anyone, not even their master, when they're in a feeding frenzy. I had a cat once, and I actually had to pry a bird out of its claws. It didn't survive though.

And you couldn't just scare your cat into dropping it/not attacking it? I only have to say my cats name with a stern voice and he would probably drop it. And else I would lift him to make him drop it

Wow. You're an asshole. Why the hell would you THROW a delicate, small animal at the ground? You probably would have killed it no matter what. Poor bird.

The cat was smarter then you so you couln't get it back anymore? When I hear a birdie in trouble I'm usually capable of releasing it from our cats...
