Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick our son up from daycare. His excuse? Fighting in a battle in World of Warcraft was far more important and he had to stay absolutely focused. Our son had to wait for two hours. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML
Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML
Today, I asked my dad to pick me up from school, he said he couldn't. Why? he was busy playing world of warcraft for the night. I got to walk the 3 hours home while my 49 year old dad played computer games. FML
Today, my boyfriend dumped me because he said the relationship was too tough for him. When I asked for an example, he responded, "Like, I don't have enough time to play World of Warcraft." FML
Today, my boyfriend refused to take me out on our three year anniversary because he was busy, "training to become a professional gamer." FML
Tidy
Today, my boyfriend taught my son to do his chores. Not real chores, but "Runescape chores" on my boyfriend's account. My son won't pick up his toys or put his shoes away, but he'll jump on the computer to grow plants or cut trees or some other stupid shit. FML
New quest
Today, it became apparent that my boyfriend only showers when he levels up on World of Warcraft. FML
Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick me up from work. We work at the same place. FML
Pay attention!
Today, my boyfriend and I were arguing about how he was too busy for me. During that conversation, he was texting his best friend and then called by his brother to drive him home. Instead of returning to finish our conversation, he left to prepare for his fishing trip with his mates tomorrow. FML
Today, I realized that I'll have to explain to my child that mommy and daddy met on World of Warcraft. FML

My mom (who I no longer see thank god) forgot my sister and me at elementary school for 3 hours one day and it was one of scariest times of my life. Luckily my dad saw us waiting outside while driving by (my parents are divorced) and picked us up and took us to his house.. Thankfully he was at daycare and not just waiting outside. Sorry to hear about this! So sad. Kids are always #1 priority!

I think we now know why his title is "boyfriend" rather than "husband." He seems to have some very serious priority issues.

You have a baby with a man who isn't your husband?

You don't *have* to be married to have children. Many people have sex before they're married and accidents can happen. Or people choose to have children without getting married. It's not a big deal.

If he were a teen father, that wouldn't really surprise me, but since he sounds like a full grown adult, he needs to get out of his high school/college years and man up considering he's a father. No child ever deserves that.

My marriage ended because my ex husband always played World of Warcraft all the time. He never kept a job because of it, he stole money to pay for it, and would just stay home and play 24/7.

These kinds of players is why all wow players have a bad rep. Some people clearly shouldn't be allowed to breed. Choosing a raid over your own kid is despicable.

Wow, he really needs to grow up. *resumes current game of League of Legends*

Wow. That is a terrible excuse and he's lucky you guys didn't get into serious trouble. One thing this country doesn't mess with is child safety. Even as an avid gamer, to me, kids come ******* first.

I would make him sit in a room alone with an angry daycare worker for 2 hours!! not fair to the son or the daycare person that had to wait for 2hrs as well. It probably cost them a TON too. I know the policy where I work is 5.00 for first 5 min and then 5 dollars EACH for each subsequent minister. Sometimes if it's a first time offense they let it go, but probably not a 2hr first time offense. I would kill the boyfriend, how immature and rude.

Here's the thing, did your son actually care he left 2 hours later than normal, or did he enjoy getting to stay and play longer? Also, did part of this 2 hours go past the time when the daycare closes?

I work at daycare and kids are READY to go home. They know what time they usually go home (according to routine if they can't tell time yet) and get super whiny and clingy and upset if their parent is late. They've been there all day, other kids are leaving, why would they want to stay longer?

And even if he didn't care, it's still awful parenting.
