Today, my boyfriend bought a new toaster. It not only pops up the bread when done, it also beeps loudly. It makes me scream in terror every single time. My boyfriend has now vowed to "Toast 'til the end of time." It's going to be a long year. FML

It almost sounds like a broken fire alarm. It's a sketchy sound haha. I've progressed to just jumping when it happens

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

You'll soon progress to the toast popping up into the air and you putting butter on it mid-air and catching it with a plate.

Destroy it when he sleeps.

I used to play this game I called the toaster. I would stand in front of the toaster everyday and wait until the bread popped out. Lol I would just stand there for a few minutes just staring intently. Every damn time I got scared haha.

Get him a new one

I love how you say you're single on your profile.

I haven't updated my profile in forever. The picture is from almost 2 and a half years ago. Facebook says I'm single too. Media "statuses" don't really mean anything

My new toaster beeps shrilly also. I unplug it as soon as it sounds off. Very annoying "feature."

Screaming in terror at a toaster. :/

Look under it and find the model number. Google the model. See if there's a way to modulate the volume.

pour water on it

I thought all toasters beeped when they were done?

Mine doesnt beep. :(

Not all. More modern ones, I'm sure, do have such convenient features as options, but not all. Some of us (like myself) have such ancient toasters that they actually don't have warning labels regarding the temperature of the outer surfaces, or that the device should not be used when placed in water. Some only have the arcane reference of "One Slice" and an arrow. (Yes, I'm being a bit... obnoxious on purpose. Though I really do own a toaster with no warning labels.)

I guess mine has that feature, too. Except it's located on the ceiling. It also beeps when I cook in the oven or on the stove or...

why on earth would that make you scream in terror? you need to get a grip on yourself if a toaster scares you that bad

Is no one questioning the "it's going to be a long year." Bit?
