Today, like every other day, my daughter thinks that degrading skinny people is very "non-conformist" and "edgy". This time, though, a slightly slim girl punched her in the face when she accused her of being anorexic. Now people think I gave my daughter her new black eye. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I have discovered that my daughter is struggling with anorexia. When I sat down to talk with her about it, she said it’s because, "all the other kids at school keep calling her fat." She was underweight before, and has now gone to being severely underweight. FML
Today, I discovered my 17 year-old daughter has an eating disorder. When I confronted her, she confessed that she’s doing it because she wants to stay thin, so that her boyfriend doesn’t dump her like her father dumped me for not being thin enough. FML
Today, my daughter turned Emo. FML
Today, my 4-year-old daughter asked me when I was going to be skinny like her daycare lady. FML
Today, I tried to nicely talk to my daughter about her rapid weight gain. Having a family history of weight-related illness, I felt it was necessary. I offered to get thyroid tests, teach her to buy healthy food, and start routine exercise. She told everyone I called her a cow and had fat-shamed her. FML
Today, my daughter admitted that she doesn’t have any friends at her elementary school. When I asked her why, she said it was because whenever she talks to any of the other kids, she gets punched in the face. FML
Today, my 15 year-old daughter got kicked out of her cheerleading squad because she was overweight. I heard one of the cheerleaders say, "She must be overweight because her mom is." FML
Today, my daughter expressed wanting to lose weight so I took her to a licensed dietician nutritionist to get her a healthy eating plan, and even made her an appointment with a personal trainer to get her on track. I walked in on her eating a whole box of laxatives, because "this way is faster." FML
Today, I heard my wife and daughter arguing. My wife took away my daughter's phone and laptop for being disrespectful. My daughter screamed, calling her mom a fat cow. My wife simply said, "Yeah, well you’re gonna look exactly like me when you grow up!" Now they’re both locked in rooms, crying. FML
Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML

Your daughter is a bully. Sit down and have a stern talk with her. She needs to learn some respect. Sorry that she got a black eye, but she deserved it for being like that.

Putting down skinny girls is the same as putting down thicker girls, honestly. They can feel insecure about their weight too. Your daughter was a bitch to point that out. She deserves it, but you don't. FYL, OP.

I'm sorry about your daughters black eye OP but she kinda deserved it for making fun of the other girl now about people thinking it was you who punched her, get the girl that did and make her explain everything or you can explain everything yourself

Maybe teach your daughter that making fun of skinny people isn't going to help her lose weight. Or endear her to anybody. I was a teensy girl in HS and got made fun of all the time for it and I was incredibly self-conscious. And making fun of an eating disorder is never okay. She deserved to get punched.

Your daughter is a bitch. I would think you would've done something to make her stop judging people and bullying. I am always bullied for being skinny, but I don't have an eating disorder. I wish she had two black eyes. And YDI for not parenting and letting her get away with it until this point.

perhaps the black eye will teach her a lesson. I am not trying to insult your kid, but is she overweight herself? Perhaps this has more to do with her jealousy or poor body image... just an idea

Why the hell are you letting her get away with that? Body shaming of any kind is unacceptable, as a parent it's your responsibility to teach your child not to be a goddamn bully. Hopefully this black eye opens the door for her to learn her lesson and treat others like human beings. Some people have trouble losing weight, others have trouble gaining it. And some people are healthy at a different body shape than you. There's nothing edgy about bullying, it's just scummy.
