Today, it dawned on me that I've been married for 6 months, but because of the Army I've spent only around 12 days total with my wife. FML

Wild Nights Out
Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that instead of being stationed in Afghanistan, my husband of 9 years has been "stationed" at his other girlfriend's house. FML
Just Dependa Things
Today, I came home from a one-year Army deployment, only for my wife to tell me she feels claustrophobic with me in the bed. She then asked for a divorce. FML
Long distance
Today, I'm in my fourth month of training in the US Navy. I'm 3000 miles from home. I joined to give my wife a better life. Since I've been gone, she decided that she liked being single. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, I learned that the girl I've been seeing for 6 months is actually married. She just dates me when her husband is pissing her off. FML
Today, my family sat me down and told me I was spending way too much time with my boyfriend and not enough time with them. My boyfriend has been away in Iraq for six months and just came home a week ago. FML
Hat Up
Today, my partner was sent 450 miles away by the army, after he had been home for only 22 hours. Yesterday they told him he could come home for two weeks. I guess the British army doesn't want me to be happy. FML
Change of plan?
Today, it's been one year since my husband moved six states away for his job. The plan was for me to stay behind until I found a job, but I still haven't in all this time. I can just feel the distance growing between us. FML
Today, is the 6 month anniversary of my boyfriend and I. Turns out next month he will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of him and his wife. FML
Catfished
Today, I found out after 6 months in basic training that my wife of 3 years was playing the long game to scam me. She took me for 25k while I was away, then left me for a homeless meth head. I've been "getting divorced" now longer than we had been happily married. FML

Last time I checked, we were free before we were in this war. We actually invaded THEM. Not to say I don't have respect for the troops, but we are fighting in a war that isn't ours. And for my pre-determined response to the people that will ramble on about how they attacked us first: Not one Iraqi has ever killed any of our people on our soil. 9/11 was mainly Saudi Arabians. As for OP, I'm terribly sorry for you. I don't think your life is fuckable, nor do you deserve it at all. You have a wife that loves you enough to stick by you for long periods at a time without seeing you. Be happy you have her, she sounds like a great girl.

So this guy is crazy about me, but we haven't ever been on a date because he went to the marines before he contacted me again. He was supposed to come back in June but it was postponed till August. So I know how that sucks for you. Hopefully things will get better. (I support you for being in the Army, btw)

my boyfriend/husband to be deployed over a month ago for a year and it's been the hardest thing we've gone through. You have to support the troops, no matter which side of the argument you're on. He signed up for ROTC over 7 years ago to help pay for school, and now he's deploying for the first time ever with the National Guard. He didn't think he'd ever deploy- he was hoping to help from home and do government work. So you can't say that someone deserves this, or that they signed up for this- that's not necessarily the case. Goodluck, and I hope either you or your wife (whoever is overseas) comes home quickly, safe, and still in love.

Not really a "FML" so much as "let me complain about my circumstances and in return receive a pat on the back and a 'Thanks for your service'".

it is a fml, try being that far away from your loved ones for so long- and for people who dont respect you as a person and treat you and your life like it is nothing... the BARE minimum he deserves from me and you is a thank you for your service.

He decided to get a job that would take him far away from home and now he's upset that he isn't home. And we don't know anything about if he's even good at that job, so thanks are out of the question. So, not an "FML."

All the people moaning about how the Army destroys other countries should think about the possibility that the OP is not a soldier on the front lines, but could be one of thousands of support personnel (with administrative, medical, or other non-combat duties) who are still suspect to random moves to faraway bases. For these people, the Army is no different than any other branch of civil service that requires travel. Would you have no sympathy for someone who was separated from his wife because of his State Department work?

You suck.

Entirely true. Nobody waits for a spouse/lover/gf/bf in the military. Never.
