Today, in an attempt to keep my valuables safe, I snatched my PlayStation 4 controller from the hands of my 4-year-old nephew. Not knowing that it was connected, I ultimately yanked the PlayStation and the HD Flatscreen flat on their faces. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, in an attempt to get my son to stop playing Call of Duty, I threw his Xbox controller out the window. He was so desperate, he followed it. His bedroom is on the second floor. My son has 3 broken ribs, and no future. FML
Today, my four year old got mad that he couldn't find his favorite character on the Wii. So, he decided to smash the Wii remote into my $700 LCD TV, shattering the screen. That was the only TV in the house, and the $80 service plan I bought doesn't cover accidental damage. FML
Today, I was babysitting a couple of kids. I'd spent time with them before, so I brought my video game console to play with them. I forgot to take it home with me. They soon sold it to another kid for $10. FML
Today, I discovered that my little brother sold my PS2, 3 and 4 along with all of my games in exchange for credits to use in Fortnite. I've had some of that stuff since before he was born. FML
Today, I come home to find my nephew holding pieces of my new $3,500 Sony Video Camera. He told me he threw it out the window because it was a portal for aliens. FML
Today, I took my new laptop into my house from my car, thinking it would be a too much of a target for kids grabbing it. I came home tonight to find my door kicked in, my laptop gone and my TV ripped from the wall. FML
Today, while shopping, my six-year-old son threw a tantrum because I wouldn't buy him a video game. I ended up having to grab his arm and leave the store. He screamed that I was kidnapping him, at which point I was socked in the face and pinned to the floor by three bystanders. FML
Today, I woke up to my Playstation 3 and my laptop missing and window open. My dad faked a robbery to see me freak out. FML
Today, I smacked my kid on top of the head for spinning the display rack while I was looking at greeting cards. It wasn't until he dramatically screamed and dropped to the floor wailing that I realized he wasn't my daughter. FML
Sorry Pat
Today, I went shopping with my two sons and my wife. We got separated after a while, and I spotted my son in the video game section of the store. I snuck up behind him and playfully slapped him on the back of the head. The kid turned around and it wasn't my son. His mom was none to happy. FML

Either you yanked it much harder than was warranted, seeing as how your tv fell as well, or you have a ridiculously short HDMI cable.

I think you need to reevaluate what you consider 'valuables'.

I like how people say " your priorities suck" or telling him how to handle someone else's kid (who most likely wasn't taught respect.) Do you all realize it's not HIS kid. I'm on the open side here. Kids these days think they can do what ever the hell they please, and no one tells them otherwise. Which is why we have this generation of selfish kids.

Every generation thinks the next generation is "selfish." And yeah, people are calling him out on how he handled this because not only is it exceedingly stupid to YANK any electronic, but because he could have broken the kids arm or ripped his shoulder out of socket if he was pulling that hard. Kids' bones are FRAGILE, and their joints are elastic enough dislocating a joint is easy, but hard to put them back in. That's putting aside the emotional trauma that it would cause. Plus he could have yanked the TV on top of his nephew, which, wide screens weigh more than enough to break bones, or cause a serious head injury -up to and including possible brain damage- if it hit him. In fact, you saying that "kids are selfish" is hilariously hypocritical since you're implying that the ADULT man who selfishly risked harm to a four year old that could have never been undone is less of a problem than a four year old who's brain is still developing and thus INHERENTLY has difficultly understanding the concept of morals, boundaries, polite behavior and danger. Sorry, but if you think a person who endangers a child is a worse human than a child that is still developing, you've got a ****** up way of judging people.

When mine or any visiting child gets ahold of something I don't want them to have, I ask them "Hey, can I have that?" and they are usually excited to give it to me. Small children love being "helpful" as it gives them a sense of acccomplishment. No need to snatch. Just ask for it back. Most of the time, they will just hand it to you. That's when you set it out of reach and move on with life.

How hard were you grabbing it? Jeez a little kids grip isn't that strong you need to yank something that hard. YDI

Why would you ever buy a wired controller for you game system it might be a pain to recharge them or by batteries depending on the controller. But at least you have the pease of mind hat if someone walk in front of you while your playing that there not going to trip on the cord and start a chain reaction of stuff being knocked down and broken (I played super Nintendo when I was young and have had this happen a few times)

Not sure how you didn't notice the long, black cable hanging from the controller.

8, please just...stop. Just don't. Between the encouragement of child abuse, the lack of understanding of context, (there was only mention of one child, yet you're speaking as if there are many,) and how painful it was to read your first-grade-level grammar, your entire comment is a train wreck from start to finish.

I think they might have been trying to say that he could have hit the boy with the TV by pulling it like that. Which is very much the case.

Tempting as it may be, as a grown adult you don't "yank" things from small children

The fact that you "snatched" it from a little kid makes me think you deserved it. What happened to telling your nephew that he couldn't play with it or asking your nephew for it? I doubt he could damaged it in the thirty seconds it would have taken you to walk over and ask for it.
