Today, I went through with my elaborate plans to propose to my girlfriend with creativity. I took her skydiving and proposed in midair. She rejected it. Why? She wanted a more "traditional" proposal. FML

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend, whom I'm madly in love with, by having a plane fly over her house spelling "Marry me Abby?" After seeing it, she locked herself in her room and cried for hours, exclaiming that this wasn't how she wanted to be proposed to. I'd invited my entire family. FML
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML

Today, in the middle of a hot air balloon ride with my girlfriend, I asked her to marry me. She said no. The rest of the ride was the most awkward two hours of my life. FML
Today, after my girlfriend telling me for years that she would marry me in a heartbeat, I finally proposed. She said no. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She promptly had a panic attack and screamed, "No!" FML
Today, my girlfriend fell asleep while I was proposing. FML
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend. I told her best friend the plan the day before. I got reservations to a restaurant on the beach, and we were going to arrive via boat. She never showed. Her parents called me asking why she left town to go to Paris. FML
Today, my girlfriend caught the bouquet at her sister's wedding. I took it as a sign so after we got home, I proposed. She laughed and said no way. I'm done. FML

Sucks, to go through all that preparation and to be rejected. She doesnt deserve to be with you if she can't understand all the work you went through for that proposal.

Now remember, the way you propose has to, most importantly, allow her a chance to be overcome with joy and love. Skydiving isn't the best choice because the sweeping wind makes it slightly difficult to feel all that. I especially hope that it isn't the first one, two, or five times she's went skydiving. That could factor into the wish for a more memorable proposal.

The people calling fake are retarded. The issue was settled pretty early and you would know that if you knew how to read to get information instead of just watching Mythbusters. This proposal may not have been "exactly" what she wanted but she needs to grow up. She can spend all the time she wants planning her wedding and the party afterward to a T. The marriage is about both of them and turning him down because he didn't find the perfect picture in her head is childish and selfish. He obviously spent a lot of time, money, and effort trying to make this special for her and the least she can do is say yes if she plans to marry him anyway. Then they can have a "traditional" everything else. His proposal as it was was real. Anything that follows will be a fake thing contrived to appease a whiny bitch. I honestly think this is a good sign that the relationship needs to be reevaluated.

I did not get this off mythbusters, I got it from being a skydiver. You can't hear anything but the wind rushing past your head during free fall. Unless they were experienced skydivers, they wouldn't be falling near each other enough anyway... The best explanation is maybe if he talked to the tandem instructors about getting somewhat near each other while under canopy. But from what I know of tandem instructors (And I dated one) they wouldn't risk it. They are responsible for the life of another human being. They aren't going to take chances. Not at my drop zone.

She didn't say "no," at least. If you really want to marry her, give it a few days and do it traditionally. Then see what she says - she may or may not just be looking for an excuse to get out.
