Today, I waved money at a passing ice cream truck and it kept going. So apparently I can't even get a date with a Sno Cone. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

Today, I was at work at an ice cream shop when a hot guy came in and started chatting me up. I got him his ice cream and as I handed it to him, he mentioned that I was cute and walked away. Then I realised he hadn't paid for the ice cream, and I didn't even get a date out of it. FML
Today, my daughter asked for a dollar to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck while I was on my computer working. Out of my wallet she took a fifty dollar bill. The ice cream man got a big tip before driving off. FML
Today, I went over to get some ice cream. I found a rare parking spot in front of the store, and even had change in my pocket. After feeding the meter, A lady comes up to me and tells me that the meter was free after 8 o'clock. I paid 50 cents for it. I was 50 cents short for my ice cream. FML
Today, the ice cream truck went by my house for the seventh time today, as it has for the last seven days of my fasting. FML
Today, I saw the guy I've been seeing passing by my dorm. I called out to him, but he covered his ears and crossed the street. Well, at least I have ice cream in my fridge. FML
Today, after a horrible day at school, I went through the McDonald's drive thru for an ice cream cone. Everything went well until I had to pull a sharp turn. The ice cream is now no longer on the cone, but instead all over my hands, face, steering wheel, and the carpet. FML
Today, I finished my first two weeks as an ice cream truck driver. Now I can't get that annoying ice cream truck music out of my head. It's even in my dreams. FML
Today, I finally removed my car insurance after realizing it costs too much money. Since I then had more money, I went to celebrate with ice cream. On the way, I got hit by a truck. FML
Today, I heard the ice cream truck. Being the idiot that I am, I ran down the steps and almost immediately fell down them. I needed four stitches. I didn't even get my ice cream. FML
Money for nothing
Today, I went to buy some frozen yogurt. I filled up a cup and the cashier rung it up. The total price was $6.92. I only had $5 in my wallet. So I gave her the $5 bill and went to my car to get more money. Little did I know, there was no money in my car. So I drove off. Leaving the $5 behind. FML

My phone doesnt show the gender and location but when i read this for some reason, I imagine a grown man in a robe chasing down an ice cream truck, please tell me this true.

Your parents lied to you, then! Ice cream trucks usually are playing music, often one that children are familiar with, to evoke excitement (and thus make them likelier to buy from it). I've never heard of an ice cream truck running out of ice cream. It's possible, I suppose, but not likely, as they tend to restock whenever they get low. It may be out of your favourite kind, but not out of everything. Most likely your parents didn't want to waste money buying it from there, when it's far cheaper to buy it at a grocery store.

Was it not the other way around? Those on duty always play music over here, so I imagine the silent ones might be not currently working.

Your parents were smart, it's actually the opposite. When the music is running, their in business.

I don't think toastbrot is being serious, instead joking about an obvious lie his/her parents supposedly told so they wouldn't have to buy him/her ice cream. I doubt toastbrot really believes it.

Possibly the fact that you think waving money at someone on the street is 'making a date' might be part of the problem.

Once it involves cash changing hands, it stops being a "date."

he might have either been off duty or just didn't see you. either way that sucks. I've had ice cream trucks pass me too, its always a major downer.

If you wanted the possibility of a date, you should go to an icecream or yoghurt parlor and have a scoop or 2. You'll probably start a conversation over the flavours with another patron; which is always an ice-breaker. Good luck!

There's something wrong if you're trying to get dates by waving money at them.
