Today, I was talking about phobias and anxiety disorders in psychology class. I nearly had a panic attack because I was worried that someone might realize I suffer from them. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, in health class we were watching a documentary about anxiety. My teacher asked if any of us often feel anxious. I was too anxious to raise my hand, and went into a minor panic attack. FML
Today, I had an extreme panic attack in the middle of class. I interrupted another person's presentation, burst into tears, and ran out of class whilst everyone looked at me. FML
Circular

SIKE!
Today, in my psychology class, the professor had us write down our name and birthday on one side of the paper and on the other side put down a mental disorder we would like to know more about. I was going to write 'Social anxiety disorder' but I was too worried about what people would think. FML
Ever decreasing circles
Today, I had to give presentation at work, for which I'd extensively prepared. However, as soon as I started speaking, I had a sudden panic attack and forgot everything I'd rehearsed. I stumbled through the presentation, feeling the embarrassment steadily grow in front of my colleagues. I almost passed out. FML
But there's panic on the streets of Carlisle
Today, I had a panic attack because my wife yelped at me. What did I say that made her yell? I told her that I had just been diagnosed with a panic disorder that's triggered by people yelling at me. FML
Nervous Nelly
Today, my social anxiety is so bad that the mere thought of talking to anyone, even someone who isn't even real, makes me feel ill and uneasy. FML

The study of psychology is ideal for the development of Hypochondriasis. I almost thought I had every mental ilness in the world.

I know how you feel man, I've been having a lot of panic attacks lately, they suck. But you'll get through it, remember when you feel one coming, just say "I'm not afraid of you, go ahead get me with all you got!" I know it's hard to do, but it helps, that and try to regulate your breathing or ask to go to the restroom.

The truth is that even if they realized it, they probably wouldn't care. "Oh you have an anxiety disorder?" Then you would give a one word reply, they'd get the sense that you didn't want to talk about it anymore and the subject would be dropped. The only thing you would remotely hear of is "Did so and so say they had an anxiety disorder?" "Yeah, I wonder what it's like for them? Are they ok?" You are not in 2nd grade where someone is going to chant and point "anxiety disorder neener neener!" and the whole class will join in. This is NOT going to happen. If anyone did that at least 20 other people in class would be thinking "what a major asshole" and probably tell them to shut up. However, they might all have anxiety about jumping in to stand up for other people, so the teacher would likely intervene, especially if they are a psychology lecturer. Wherever there's a bully, there's a hero who will do the right thing.

I had an anxiety attack in my psychology class before, first one ever. I didn't know what was going on and somehow I hid it well. A few weeks later, we had a whole lesson on anxiety. I'm always going to be reminded of that day whenever I walk into the classroom.
