Today, the phone rang so I went to answer it. No one was there. A minute later the phone rang again and no one answered so I assumed it was a telemarketer or a prank so I started swearing uncontrollably in rage. Turns out it was my crush calling to ask me out, but she was too nervous to ask. FML

Today, I called the suicide hotline, only to get lectured by a very condescending man. I hung up and called back, only for the other line to pick up and hang up on me immediately. FML

If OP suffers from anxiety (just a wild guess, given the loneliness), it actually IS that difficult to 'just go out and meet new people'.

If someone has social anxiety or Autism or even is just shy, it's very difficult to go out and meet people and make friends.
