Today, I was hit in the head by a golf ball. I wasn't near a golf course, and nobody was anywhere in sight. I'm still trying to figure out what happened. FML

Sounds like someone partied a little too hard at the club... Maybe it was a birdie who dropped it from up above, or a golfer trying to protect himself from the bogeyman. I hope you can putt your fears to rest so you aren't too jumpy while you drive home, but maybe you should be in case you end up with a hole in one of your windows! Good luck, op.
