Today, I was having an after work-out dinner with my ex-girlfriend and we were having a great time, catching up, eating good food, all the good things. Then when I got home, I realized I just talked to my ex-girlfriend for an hour and a half about how much better her new boyfriend is than me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was hanging out with my ex's new girlfriend. I found out he was dating us both at the same time and was comparing between us. That is why he broke up with me two years ago and is still with her ever since. FML
Today, I agreed to meet my ex-girlfriend at our favorite restaurant with my hopes high. She just wanted me to meet her new boyfriend. FML
Today, I was eating lunch on my first date with a really pretty girl, when my ex shows up at the same restaurant and starts telling her how bad of a boyfriend I was. My date left. FML
Small world, huh?
Today, I was talking to my best friend about how much of an asshole my ex-boyfriend is. After about 2 hours of non-stop bitching, it turns out she's actually dating him. FML
Bragging rights
Today, I got in an argument with an ex-girlfriend who kept tactlessly bragging to me about her new boyfriend. I told her to read what she'd sent me, then pretend her boyfriend was telling her that. Fifteen minutes later, her boyfriend calls me, yelling for making her feel sad. FML
Today, I was at a party and spent the whole night bragging to my friends about how I thought this girl was totally into me. As we were leaving, we saw the same girl making out with my ex. FML
Keeping up with the Joneses
Today, I met my ex from the college, and he invited me to dinner. Back then, he was rude and a bit abusive, but I agreed anyway. The man I saw today is loving, caring and fun, with a good job, and I really liked his wife. On the other hand, I'm between jobs, and my relationship's turned into the utter bore. FML
Boundaries
Today, I took my new girl out on a date after work. Ten minutes later, my ex-wife, her new boyfriend and my daughter showed up at the same restaurant and decided a double date would be fun. My ex lives an hour away. FML
Today, my ex-girlfriend was having lunch with my parents. Believing she was in love with me and feeling the same, I dropped by. My parents told me that she’s their friend and that she has a boyfriend that they approve of, all while telling me I was never good enough for her. FML
Today, I was eating a fancy dinner with my girlfriend at a restaurant. Suddenly, my ex-girlfriend, who was seemingly still angry after our breakup 2 years ago, saw me through the window. She walked in, took my spaghetti dinner, shoved it in my face, and stormed out. FML

I don't see this as an FML - you two broke up and there must have been reasons for that, and the fact that you can still go out with her and talk to her like a friend is a good thing. I stay friends with my ex's for the most part and if they wanna talk about their new partner that's fine because I'm just a friend now. Therefore voting YDI for apparently wishing that your ex was still pining for you

I think the ex was being really sweet in trying to let you know how / where you come up short in the bf dept. Write them down. Review them routinely. Work on those aspects of your life and personna.

What is it that you see when you look in the mirror after an experience like that? You probably bought her the food she was eating too! lol

Hey, that's awesome, OP! Seriously! Don't feel sorry for yourself; if you ever cared for her - and it sounds like you still do, else you wouldn't have been out to dinner with her - be glad for her finding someone else that fits her better. I had a girlfriend that wound up getting married, after we broke up, to somebody that treated her like fecal matter. Now, that's something to be upset about. But if she's in a better relationship now, it's great. As for your pride, as other commenters have said, take what she's mentioned about you, count this information as a blessing, and try to learn from it. And even that can't have been too bad, since you didn't even realize it until after the fact. The way I see it, YLIG!
