Today, I was fired from the restaurant I work at because I missed my shift. I missed it because I was in the hospital for food poisoning from the meal I ate at work last night. FML

Today, I was training for my new job at a restaurant. As part of training, they give you free food so you know what to recommend, and the dish I got was really good. Eight hours later I saw it again while I was puking. I got food poisoning from my own workplace. FML
Today, I didn't feel like cooking when I got home from work, so I decided to go to the local restaurant nearby and do my part in supporting small businesses. Long story short, I woke up later feeling like absolute shit. Hello, food poisoning. FML
Today, I got food poisoning from a restaurant that I had chosen for our company party. Everyone who went blamed me for their predicament. I also had to run to the toilet every ten minutes while they were all mad at me. FML
Today, I returned to work after a week off due to severe food poisoning, after which I ended up in the ED. I was given a warning for causing an inconvenience to everyone, and next time I'm going to be sick, I should give 3 days notice. FML
Today, the day before I was supposed to go back to work after I got sick, ended up in the hospital, and primary doctor put me on medical leave, I got fired. FML
Today, I have food poisoning. My boss told me that if I didn't come into work, I'd be fired. Not 30 minutes after sitting down, I sneezed and shat my pants. My boss still won't let me leave. FML
Today, I went out to eat to celebrate getting over the stomach flu. I hadn't eaten solid food in over a week, so I was really excited and ordered my favorite dish. It gave me food poisoning. FML
Today, without any warning from my body whatsoever, I had to go to the bathroom at work to puke. I was then fired for being ‘drunk’ at work. I wasn’t drunk, just sick. FML
Today, after a week of staying in at night and fighting off a persistent cold, I was finally feeling well again, so I decided to go to my boyfriend's work BBQ. I got food poisoning. FML
Today, I got food poisoning from my wedding food. FML

Management in the restuarant industry are ******* idiots. I too, got fired (well forced to resign) for having to go to the hospital for an allergic reaction to a medication I was taking. Get out if the industry now - all managers are ******* idiots

In some states you can be fired without reason. Especially if you no call-no show.. You don't have grounds to sue.. Especially since most hospitals have telephones..

You cannot legally be fired for missing work while in the hospital. Get a record proving you were there, take it to the manager. If you are not rehired then you'll have been wrongfully terminated and will have grounds to sue, but only then.

Call the health dept. and report them.And then go get ur unemployment /workman's comp. Then call a lawyer and sue for wrongful termination plus pain and suffering and medical bills. Stick it to them before they have a chance to stick it to you. The only one who will lok out for you. Is you yourself not anyone else.

well said, that is why there are labour laws in place op to stop assholes like that firing you, they have no right to do so, so yes take it to the labor board or health inspectors haha they will have a heyday with a food poisoning case.

They also have right to work states, which means you can be terminated without reason... Given that the termination isn't based on sex, religion, race, etc., there are no grounds to sue...
