Today, I was doing a study on homeless people and how they manage to stay alive on the streets. Turns out the one I was studying today was given more money than I make in a week. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, a homeless man asked me for some money to eat. He ate the five dollars I gave him. FML
Today, I realized that the homeless people I give change to all dress better than I do, including the one that doesn't believe in pants. FML
Today, I found out that a street performer makes more money than I do. I have a full time job at the bank. FML
Today, I tried to give some change to a homeless man. My girlfriend pulled me away and ranted about how homeless people are all basically bastards who deserve their misfortune, and that I shouldn't give "our" money away. FML
Today, while volunteering at a local homeless shelter, I asked the woman next to me how long she'd been homeless. She works there. FML
Today, I realized that I'm a terrible human being. For the first time in my life, I gave some change to a homeless guy, but only so he'd get out of my face long enough for me to watch two other bums beating the crap out of each other over a sandwich. FML
Today, I decided to buy a meal for a homeless man who was being shunned at an intersection. When I went to hand it to him, I realized it was my dad, wearing a tattered old shirt and pretending to be homeless to make some money. FML
Generous
Today, a homeless guy asked me for a cigarette. Knowing that I only had a couple left in my pack, I gave it to him. He opened it, took one out and thanked me profusely. A bit surprised, I went on my way. Oh yeah, that's right, the pack contained the money I'd withdrawn from an ATM. FML
Crossed purposes
Today, while I was walking home, a homeless man saw me and didn't ask for change, but how much I charged. FML
You're welcome!
Today, I saw a homeless woman and a young man wrapped in a blanket so I went to give them a fiver. Turns out the woman was just helping calm her autistic son by wrapping him up, and not homeless at all. She kicked me in the balls and took the money anyway while I was on the ground. FML

suprisingly, you can make a lot of money begging in america. actually. the average hobo makes more money per hour begging than someone would make working a minimum wage job.

If they spent it wisely they'd be well off. A lot of them are schizophrenic so can't be entirely blamed, but it's still ridiculous. But this is Australia, not america scotticus.

Wow, what average person makes 30,000 dollars in three months? I can just picture a homeless person downtown leading a double life as a business executive, lol!

That's what Homer Simpson did.

that's a great point in your study! that homeless people make the same amount as a regular person, but must have bad spending habits!

YDI for being jealous of a homeless man; you'd seriously rather trade places?

Location, location, location. BTW, a prostitute probably makes more than you as well. I am still not sure I would be envious of her or the homeless...

Yeah, in certain places they make a lot. Also they don't pay taxes on it.

I wonder what is a bigger drag on society: homeless, panhandling parasites or the people who study them?

Third option: you. I'll consider the latter more relative.

The pople who complain about either of them...

homeless people in Amsterdam make up to $300 a day begging

In the USA, you don't have to beg. Just hold up a clever sign and people will give you a dollar.
