Today, I was doing a little victory jig after finally sending out the last of the invitation cards for my wedding when I realised that I had forgotten to put the date of the event on them. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, it was my wedding day. Everything went great, except that no one showed up. Apparently, the address of the invitation was typed wrong. FML
Today, I posted an event to have a get together with friends. Most of them put "not attending". I hadn't even set the date. FML
RSVP classic
Today, despite checking, double-checking, and triple-checking before we sent them to every member of our friends and family, some who live in foreign countries, our wedding invitations somehow had not one, but two spelling mistakes. They misspelled my surname and the address of the church. FML
Today, I got a "save the date" card for the wedding of a couple my husband knows. I was excited because I really wish to be better friends with these people. I emailed the bride, "I got your STD!" and hit send before I realized how that sounded. FML
Today, I spent an hour writing 80 thank you cards to everyone who attended my graduationg party. After carefully personalizing each one and sealing them shut, I realized I did not mark the envelopes with names. FML
Where were you?
Today, I showed up to my mate's wedding. There was a board for someone's 100th birthday instead. I screwed up the dates and the wedding was yesterday. FML
Technicality
Today, after years planning our wedding, booking a venue, a DJ, dresses and suits, a limousine, sending invitations, hiring caterers, buying gifts, arranging the honeymoon for the day after the wedding, we did all that flawlessly. What was the one god damn thing we forgot? To book a registrar. FML
Today, I finally got around to writing my Christmas cards. After finishing, I realized I had written "Happy Birthday" instead of "Merry Christmas" on every single one. FML
Today, I got an invitation in the mail for my dad's third wedding. My first name was misspelled on the envelope. FML
Template
Today, I made a digital contact card for my department that needed to be sent to payroll. Since we didn't have one before, I sent a copy to the rest of the department to use if they wanted. I didn't send the blank though. I sent 100s of people all of my contact info. Somehow, I managed to misspell my own name too. FML

Simple fix, phone calls. My wife did the same thing.

It's always a bad day when someone does a victory jig much too early

Exactly. OP, as long as you didn't do something stupid like put registry information or "only monetary gifts requested" on the invitations, you're good. Might be a lot of phone calls, but if I were a guest I'd laugh it off. Congrats!

Yes Noor, she did. It was a weird amalgamation of snapping and feet shuffling.

Most people will realise the mistake and contact you anyway, it's no big deal. I hope your wedding goes wonderfully and I hope that this isn't too much of an issue! :)

Send more! I'm sure your guests will find some humor in it.

Send more? Wedding invitations aren't usually very cheap, not to mention how time consuming they are to send out.

Well of course you didn't write the date. Predicting omens can be hard. Not many know when the "first snowfall as the eagle cries under a full moon" happens.
Welshite 40
Oh, err... that happens every time I get drunk. I listen to the snowflakes' cries as they drown, and I smile.

Noor, you've lost me this time! I got confused right after "golden showers".

24- on another note, the quote in your profile picture is amazing. I love that play :p

At least you know nobody can RSVP saying they can't make it that day!

Better no date than the wrong date! Expect some phone calls! Don't worry too much; every wedding has lots of mishaps that you can laugh at years down the road. Congratulations though!

Proofread much?

Judge, much?

41, what? Where is the judging in that comment? It may be stupidly worded, but the idea is perfectly valid.

True enough, I just hate the "____, much?" thing so badly!!

Aka-awkward.

Don't feel bad I've seen other people do this as well... Nothing like a 'save the date' invite without a date lol
