Today, I was bored and decided it would be fun to pretend to be an undercover cop and pull over other cars. The first car I pulled over was a real undercover cop. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
What did you expect?
Today, as a joke, I hopped in the front seat of a police cruiser and took a cute selfie while the officer was talking to someone on the sidewalk. A minute later, he dragged me to the ground and arrested me. Um… what? FML
Today, I accidentally rear-ended an undercover police car. FML
Today, I was learning to drive a stick when a cop decided to pull me over just to laugh at me. FML
Road rage
Today, I was brake-checking a Dodge Charger who was attempting to run me off. It was an undercover police car. FML
Don't dick around with those guys
Today, I was chilling out with my friend in a parking lot, when a police officer came up to the vehicle and suspiciously asked what we were up to. My friend sarcastically said, "Uh, doing drugs? Planning a drive-by? Haha!" We soon found ourselves in the back of a cop car. FML
Brain fart
Today, of the two IDs I possess, I handed the cop that pulled me over the fake one. FML
Less haste, less speed
Today, while driving extremely fast on a road in the middle of nowhere, I started to go down a hill. Noticing a police car at the bottom, I slammed my brakes and blew a tire in the process. It turns out the police car was an old cutout used to trick people. FML
Today, I was pulled over for speeding. When the police officer approached me and asked for license and registration, I accidentally gave him my fake I.D. FML
Classic
Today, I got pulled over for going a few miles per hour over the speed limit. The cop asked for my license and registration. I happened to look down at my wallet while he was processing everything and saw my license in my wallet. I gave the cop my fake I.D. FML
Today, I stopped and helped a young lady stuck on the side of the road. Guess who got accused of forcing myself and got charged with impersonating a police officer. FML

#246 Nothing I said comes from court shows. I don't watch television - my schedule is too busy to do so. No, not all felonies are dangerous. The ones you mentioned are, yes. But embezzlement, theft above $500 (or whatever amount a state designates), destruction of property above $500 (or whatever a given state chooses), burglary, etc. are all felonies, as well, and not a single one is inherantly dangerous. People are bailed for drug crimes, and even homicides, on a regular basis. Local detention centers do not have the room to keep every criminal in jail until trial - it can take six months, a year, or even longer for many crimes to get to trial. Just because someone is accused of a crime, even a dangerous crime, doesn't mean they are treated as though they have been convicted. Courts will let people go on bail if they have reason to believe the person will appear in court and face justice. There is a big difference between accused and guilty. Just because the average idiot on the street can't comprehend that doesn't mean a judge doesn't take it into consideration. That is not to say every person will get out on bail. A flight risk or someone who is perceived as especially dangerous (via their record or occasionally the seriousness of the crime) will be held without bail. But to be held without bail for being dangerous it has to be more than just the charge - it has to be the way the person treated officers, whether they can leave the state easily, how bad the crime was (a person accused of raping a child is less likely to be released than someone accused of a 4th degree sex offense against an adult (like grabbing a woman's breasts at a bar - yes, it is a felony in some states)), etc. How do I know this? I have worked as a paralegal in two different law offices. I worked for a judge for 6 months, observing criminal indictments, arraignments, and trials throughout. I also represent prisoners RIGHT NOW. Think before you speak (or in this case type). Just because you think you are right doesn't mean you are. I certainly don't know everything, and I am a year away from officially being a lawyer, but I know how the courts work - very well. I work with the system every day. Don't make assumptions about people. I assumed nothing about you except that you were misinformed. You, however, assumed that I got my information from TV without knowing that I am making a career of the practice of law and that, because I work and go to school full time, I don't even watch TV.

I don't understand how you couldn't tell that it was an undercover cop. Even though they don't have visible lights you can still tell by the model of the car and the upgrades they put on cop cars.
