Today, I was at work when my mother texted me, "You take a nice picture." I replied, "What picture?" I then got a reply saying, "The one on your speeding ticket showing you going 73 in a 55 mph zone. You're even smiling." FML

Today, I got pulled over for speeding. After the cop asked for my license, he started laughing when he saw my picture. FML
Today, we got a speeding ticket in the mail with my drunk daughter's picture on it. She was waving at the camera. FML
Today, I was on the way to traffic court for a $340 speeding ticket I'd got. My mother called me and I wasn't paying attention which caused me to speed. Right past a cop. When I told the cop where I was going, he started laughing at me. I now have another $300 ticket. FML
Today, I learned that several thousand people in my state got tickets this month for driving and talking on the phone. My mom called to tell me this while I was driving. I'm now part of that statistic. Thanks, mom. FML
Today, I was driving home and got a phone call from my mom. She called to tell me that there was a cop at the bottom of our hill, and to be careful. I got a ticket for talking on my cell phone while driving. FML
Today, I was driving to work. I saw a cute boy in the car next to me. To try and look cool, I pretended I was talking on my cell phone. I got pulled over and got a ticket for using my cell phone while driving. FML
Today, my mom once again yelled at me for "driving erratically." She texts while driving 70 miles per hour on the highway, but apparently driving through a yellow light is "reckless." FML
Today, my dad asked me to send my mom a text since he was driving and I was in the passenger seat. I pulled up my mom's contact on his phone, and I found that my mom had recently sent my dad a picture of her jugs, along with the message, "We miss you." FML
Today, my mom wanted to send me a picture of me at graduation, saying that I looked pretty in it. It was a picture of a different girl; definitely not me. Way to go, mom. FML
Today, I left work to find a note on my windshield that read, "I think you're cute," with a phone number written down as well. I got super excited and immediately dialed. The phone was answered by a woman laughing hysterically. It was my Mom. FML

Half the time the damn cameras flash when they aren't supposed to. Usually if you don't pay your ticket and nobody comes knocking on your door, it just disappears. Poof!

organisedchaos- If you have to look at your spedometer constantly to know how fast your going, you need to go back to drivers ed... you just have to glance at it occasionally to see your speed... you should be able to tell if you're going faster than that because you surroundings go past you faster. Don't try to use "safety" as an excuse.

This isn't entirely correct, but it's definitely useful. The best way to empirically gauge how quickly you're going is to rely on the rate of acceleration and when the transmission switches gears or when you need to switch a gear manually. Basically, when you get used to going certain speeds, you intuitively stop accelerating at the speed you're supposed to be at just by listening and feeling for the switching gears. This only works if you're in a car that you're used to, of course.
