Today, I was asked by a total stranger if I had Tourettes. This is the third time this has happened to me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
What's the ******* truth?
Today, I found out three things: One, I was apparently diagnosed with Tourette's as a child. Two, my parents apparently told everyone about it, and had no idea that I didn't know about this. Three, that the diagnosis is possibly incorrect. I'm in for quite the time. FML
Today, I got asked out for the first time in my life. During a prank call. By a complete stranger. FML
Today, I went on a date with a guy and he kept winking at me. I thought it was really sweet until later that night he told me he had Tourette's. FML
Sorry…
Today, I was working at Old Navy. A girl came up to me and did a bizarre dance. Not knowing how to react, I imitated her to be friendly with the customer. Then she stopped cold. Her friend stormed up to me and yelled, "You jerk! Why are you making fun of her? She has Tourette's, you know!" FML
Today, for the third time this week, a random person in the street walked up to me and told me how much I look like Grumpy Cat. FML
Today, a total stranger on the bus called me hideous and threw a soda in my face. I only asked him if the seat next to him was taken. FML
Today, as always, I have Tourette's syndrome. It causes me to occasionally make a beeping noise. My boyfriend just figured out that if he beeps back, it makes me beep again. He thinks it's hilarious and won't stop. FML
Today, on the way to work, I was punched in the balls by a complete stranger. FML
Today, I was sitting on the train when some crazy man started talking to me. I ignored him, and he tapped on my shoulder. He started blabbing and I just pointed to my ears and mouthed, "I'm deaf." He stopped talking. A minute later my phone rang and I answered it without thinking. FML
Close encounter
Today, a creep called me out in the street and asked me why I was in that part of that street, because he "knows " I live in another part of the street, and he found it "odd" that I was there. He was smiling all that time too. FML

While that is quite rude and offensive, I can't help but think you had to have been doing something to make them think you have Tourettes..

Thats not all that syndrome does

5, you are totally right, but that's what a lot of people think, so if they ask them about it, it's probably because of foul language.

I'm not trying to prove anybody right or wrong, but Tourette's syndrome causes it's victims to be unable to control their actions. Tourettes Guy on YouTube is affected in a way that causes him not to be able to control what he says, and that is the most commonly known effect of the syndrome.
bossking23 15
It's the most common known, but it's the least common form found. I would know since I have Tourette's

While you may be right (hell you probably are) just having it doesn't qualify that you know everything about it. Like when you get sick it doesn't mean you automatically know everything about your illness. Not saying you're wrong bc I don't know if your right or not though.

#54 Your comment was pointless; and he's right. It's the most common known and least common found. I have tourettes as well and most people have no clue what it actually is. It's involuntary "tics" that we must do, otherwise it leaves us feeling extremely uncomfortable.
AikoRose 15
My comment wasn't about whether his was right or wrong. It was about his qualifying his information. He said most people experience Tourette's this way simply bc that's the way he experiences it. That's not valid logic. I never said he was wrong though. It's like saying that because you sleep at night you automatically know everything about sleeping and what the body does while asleep. Please read more thoroughly.

Tourettes Guy is obviously fake

#67 That sounds an awful lot like OCD. OCD involves compulsions that cause extreme anxiety if not fulfilled. What's the difference between Tourette's and OCD? I'm honestly curious.

It's not like chicken pox dummy. It doesn't just come and go.

I'm flattered that you think my material is so clever that it has to be ripped, so much so that I'm going to ignore the fact that I generally dislike excessive amounts of referential humor.

Don't flatter yourself. Your use of quotation marks suggests you got it from somewhere. English is weird.
khaoticpanda 28
Well its a comment. Its IMPLIED that its something your saying so theres no real use for QUOTATION marks unless your using a quote.
MrConcise 35
The quotation marks imply it's spoken without tediously saying "OP, this would have been funny to say, hurr durr". Not my fault people don't have a grasp on the English language. Proper usage of quotations or not, contextually, it should have been enough.
fml_user_314 6
all of dB you are wrong number 3 is right because he's saying it as a person with tourettes
MrConcise 35
#48 - Thank you for explaining it, but apparently popular opinion trumps logic.
RebeccaRFT 18
So?
khaoticpanda 28
So it obviously bothers him/her. What do you MEAN 'so'?
princesspeachxox 18
Are you perhaps doing something to provoke that question...? Realise the problem, acquire a solution
onlychildFTW 34
Yeah, considering it had happened more then once, and assumedly by different people, OP must be doing something to make people think that. It's a pattern!
AngryKitten 24
Do you cuss a lot OP? If so that's probably why.

is it bad that I get this reference?

It's not a reference

Wow. I would love to know what you do for a living, with Tourette's verbal or tic symptoms.

Just cuss them out then say yes with a smile
