Today, I walked to school in - 5°C degree weather, snow up to ankles, for an exam. The school had closed and warned all the parents, but mine didn't tell me, because it was "funnier". FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, school was out because of snow. My dad walked in my room and shouted "Why are you home?!" I told him why, and he replied, "Then get out the damn house and play in the snow." He tossed me out in nothing but my shorts. FML
Today, I'm a superintendent at a school, and it snowed today after school. The snow ended up freezing on the road, so I called school off for tomorrow. I sent calls home, cancelled all school events, and then realized that it's Friday. FML
Today, my dad woke me up at 6 told me to take a shower and drove me to school only to say "just kidding, happy snowday!" FML
Today, I was walking home from school and my stupid brother who comes earlier then me locked the storm door. I ended up trying every other door for 3 hours in below freezing temperature. I was numb everywhere. I rang the bell and my brother opened it. He was home the whole time. FML
Today, I got up and walked to college for my only class which started at 9 a.m. after a night of restless sleep. Our exam is two weeks away, so I thought it would be better to attend. Apparently, my teacher thought differently. FML
Today, we had our second snow day in a row, something that never happens. So while the rest of school got to sleep late, I had to wake up early, get dressed, and go to my bus stop because my mom didn't believe me. FML
Today, I walked in the snow and saw some kid slip. I laughed and felt good about myself. Then I fell. FML
Today, a snow storm rolled into my small town, leaving my car stuck under 3 feet of snow. I called my boss to tell her I couldn't drive to work. Her reply? "Walk." FML
Today, I got up at five, got dressed, and walked halfway to work in the snow. I then realized that it's Sunday. I also forgot my keys. FML
Today, I woke up to a quite frigid room, which wasn't out of the ordinary since my building's heat is broken. But I realized that the extra cold I was feeling was due to the snow piled up on my bed. It had snowed 20 inches last night. My mom had apparently opened my window. FML

All the way up to your ankles? GASP! Maybe if you walked to school on your hands that would be impressive, but otherwise, you should omit that detail.

Your parents have a good sense of humor.

God that's sick. My body reacts harshly to cold weather, so walking to school is simply PAINFUL. I feel your pain!!

Here is my diabolical plan OP: Don't do anything to get back at them. You will only anger them more anyways. What you need to do is act all disappointed and humble, you need to make them feel sorry they did that and nothing works better than reverse psychology. ;)

Hahahahahahaha -5? Seriously? Sheesh, in Canada schools don't close until its at like -30 with snow up to your knees. Suck it up buttercup

And that is the reason I moved from Edmonton to the West Coast. Not everywhere in Canada is like that.

I'm from Yellowknife, where it regularly gets down into the -40s and even -50s. The only time my school has EVER been closed for weather was when I lived in England, and it was for what was essentially a bad frost. Ridiculous.

When I lived in Canada we had that 'the kids get sent home at -40C' thing, and in Australia, it was the same for +40C. The thing is, neither one turned out to be true - they just lie about it and keep you there!

We are a country of moaners & Ireland is ridiculously unprepared for anything. Especially things we cannot control ie the weather. Haven't you seen the people 'running' our country? Google Brian Cowen. Try not to vomit :L lol

Was it also up hill both directions for 10 miles? Don't be so hard as ice on yourself OP. That you have committed to you studies proves that you mind is not a frozen tundra, and that you have a fire inside to make intelligent decisions. So take a chill pill, and don't take you parents sense of humor with a frosty attitude.

Who cares if it's 'ONLY' -5*, In Canada it's no biggie, sure, but in Ireland that's a big difference dumbassess.

Try walking to your bus stop in -31 and waiting 20 minutes for the bus that won't come. Don't whine.
