Today, I walked out to my car to see four kids taking the hubcaps, radio, and license plates off of my truck. I chased them six blocks until I tripped and twisted my ankle. I limped back to my car and found a ticket on my windshield for $55 dollars. The reason? Missing license plates. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had a rude awakening after a traffic accident the day before. I'd fled the scene to avoid having to pay hefty damage fines. I would have gotten away with it too, if my license plate hadn't fallen off and incriminated me. FML
Today, I got a parking ticket for $150. It seems it was issued by my husband, who apparently can't remember license plate numbers. FML
Detained
Today, I was pulled over and fined $100 for driving without a license, as I'd accidentally left home without my wallet. I later found my wallet wedged beside my car seat, where it had been the entire time. FML
Best seat in the house
Today, a truck rear-ended my car and drove off. I could see everything from my office, everything except his license plate. FML
In and out
Today, after finding $50 on the sidewalk this morning and feeling like the luckiest person alive, I got a parking ticket for $60. FML
Today, my car got a wheel lock because I had 5 tickets. Three of those tickets dated back to 2006. I got my car and license in 2008. FML
Today, I went to city hall to pay for a parking ticket. After returning to my truck, I found a parking ticket on my window. FML
Today, I parked my car, went to pay for my spot, and returned to my car only to find a parking violation ticket tucked under the windshield wipers. This all happened in less than a minute. FML
Today, I went to my car to discover a note on the windshield from the city telling me that they had hit my car. On top of that note was a parking ticket, also from the city. FML
Probably a Monday
Today, running late for work, I ran outside and the door handle literally broke off my vehicle when I pulled to open it. I climbed in through the passenger door, turned on my car, and the windshield wipers were on… swiping a fresh $78 parking ticket across my windshield. FML

How did they write you out a ticket with no license plates? Just a description of the truck? :/

sorry to hear that. so unfortunate can you fight that ticket? that seems like a legit reason, just hard to show proof

So there were no cops around the whole time while the kids were stealing your stuff....yet during the 5min you chased them, one shows up just in time to write you a ticket and is gone again before you can get back?? I'd hate to live in your neighborhood!

Why didnt you get in your truck and chase them, vehicular manslaughter would have been arguable in court.

I would fight the ticket, there's a good reason you didn't have a license plate on your car, and it wasn't your fault.

They can write a ticket based off VIN. That plate visible from outside. Assuming the car is in his name, they have all the info they need off that, once they check the system. It could be fought, I doubt one has an insured car that isn't licensed.

Why would you run after them on foot? Why didn't you whip out the phone and snap a picture of the kids? I found someone breaking into my car once and I took a picture and the guy got busted.
