Today, I told a customer her total was $89.40. She put her leg up on the counter and dug a $100 bill out of her nasty sock. It was damp. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while working the register, I told a kid his total was $2.15. He then took his shoe off and handed me his money. It was damp. FML
Today, I was running the register at my work and this big lady pulls her wad of cash out of her bra and hands it to me. The bills she handed me were moist. FML
Coinbased
Today, I rang up a customer’s items. The total came out to $24.67. She handed me a bag full of coins and looked at me expectantly. I asked if she had any other payment methods; she got irritated and said ,“If I did, I wouldn’t have given you this, stupid!” I had to count them. She was still 6 dollars short. FML
Today, a lady came into my workplace to pay her $120 bill in one dollar bills. I kept losing count. FML
Cash
Today, I was at work when a customer, who was going to pay for her groceries, started sorting through her money. She put some coins in her mouth, seemed to suck on them for a while, and then gave them to me. FML
Today, I was cashiering, and a customer's change came to $5.51. She looked pretty stinking rich, so I just gave her $5.50. She demanded the extra penny, and I asked if she really needed it. She said, "No, but they do, asshole," and dropped her $5.51 in the charity donation box. FML
Grossssssss
Today, a customer handed me the ankle-length hosiery she had just used to try on some shoes, and as I sat there feeling the warm dampness of them in the palm of my hand, she said, "You should throw those away, I have a toe fungus." FML
Today, a lady handed me a $10 tip on a $45 bill. I was happy with it, since it was more than 20%, until she came back in and said, "I'm sorry I gave you the wrong amount." I handed it back to her and then she gave me a dollar. FML
Today, a customer handed me a 100 dollar bill. He then told me that it was my tip for doing a good job. He snatched it away just as I touched it, laughed, and said, "Just kidding." He then took his money and left the store. FML
Today, while I was delivering pizza in the torrential downpour, I waited 5 minutes in the pouring rain for an old lady to dig 20 bucks out of her purse. Her total was $19.99. She told me to keep the change and make lots of money. FML

Plenty of stores will refuse to take the money under those conditions. It’s bad hygiene.

I would have told them no.

I've seen places with signs saying that they won't accept bra money. Maybe they should add socks to it.

money is money plus I'd prefer that nasty 100$ cash over digital money any day of the month no matter where it is pulled out from and I've been a cashier at a retail store for a couple a months just so nobody questions my views.

A couple of months? Well, clearly you're the authority on matters involving the whole retail industry, so I have questions. 1) Is it true stores stack beer near diapers so dads combine both in one shop, thus increasing profits? 2) Why does weird shit always happen at Walmart? Are they cursed? 3) Why are British tourists to America still so ******* miserable? 4) Why do coupons have expiry dates? They're paper. 5) Why do you believe that, after only two months of working retail, you think those of us who were repulsed by this story are the ridiculous ones? I'll bet you a sweaty $100 many of us have worked retail far longer than you have, and are also smart enough to reject a bill that's been in someone's sock while their foot was in it. Your views will change in time, but for now, clean up in aisle 4.

oh so you want me to work my whole life as a cashier and not succeed until I find the answers to your questions because that'll ultimately make you happy? stop behaving like one of those gully old customers who only barge in the stores when they don't really wanna buy anything but just want the world to suffer. I rarely see them but I have encountered a few in those couple a months and that was enough for me to quit. sorry to you you've had it rough haven't you? does this makes you feel better? or should I throw in some points to make a statement?

that's not what they mean by "keep it 💯"

On a hot August day, I had to accept a damp bill the guy had taken out of the waistband of his UNDERWEAR!

If they were giving it you for yourself, you wouldnt be complaining :)

A rational person ******* would. I don't want sweaty money of any kind. And what if that woman had Athlete's Foot, or something? It's nasty, and your comment is stupid.
