Today, I spent 3 hours making a birthday card for my boyfriend, delicately cutting each letter out of printed coloured paper. He used it as a coffee coaster. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend came over to celebrate our anniversary. He had a card written in crayon with my name spelled wrong, and a basket I had seen his mother throw in the trash filled with flower petals ripped from my mom's garden. Our anniversary was 3 days ago. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a card for my birthday and told me to open it 10 minutes after he'd gone; I waited for 5. In the card was written, "It's not working out, but here's $20." FML
Today, my boyfriend came to visit me for my birthday. Over dinner he handed me a blank card that had the words "I love you" hastily written on it. When the waiter came to take our order he informed him that we'd be paying separately. Happy Birthday. FML
Today, I wrapped my boyfriend's Christmas presents for him, because he was too lazy to do it himself. This included my own present. FML
Thanks, I guess…
Today, it was my birthday and everyone in the office chipped in to buy me a card, and nothing but a card. It had a pre-written message on it and a space to write "Love, *insert name*" where everyone signed their names. The "Love" was crossed out and replaced with "From". FML
Today, I had an art class with my girlfriend. The teacher assigned "anti-cards", or cards for unusual or bad occasions. My girlfriend decided to make a "break-up" card, and I helped her write the poem inside it. After class, she gave it to me. FML
Today, I wrote a song for my boyfriend on paper. The first thing he did was correct my grammar. FML
Today, I spent hours hand-painting an awesome design on a gift for a friend. My husband was supposed to assemble it when I finished, but when I stepped back to admire my work, he informed me that the whole thing was sideways. He watched me paint it. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My boyfriend didn't get me a present. He did, however, get me a card from our cat. He signed it "Have a purrrrfect birthday." Then he left to go to work. I was alone all day long. FML
It's the thought that counts…
Today, I wrote my boyfriend a poem, and left it on the bed with a rose for him to see after work. When I came home later, I noticed the flower in the trash, and the poem had been used as gum wrapper. FML

When someone does that kind of shit with stuff I make, I stop caring about getting them anything special. Next time just grab a card and sign it, since he doesn't seem to care. By the way, don't print out colored paper just to cut out. Go out and buy construction paper, it's cheaper.

What a jerk. Even if he's not into the sentimentality of cards or whatever, he should at least show some appreciation for you and your effort.

never spend that much time making something for a guy. That is something a women would appreciate, but all a guy is gonna care about is if he's getting sex that night, not how much time you spent making him a card. You kinda deserved that one, but I clicked FYL

re: printed paper, I imagine it's paper with colored prints on it. Like... flowers. Or something.

Way to make his birthday ALL about you. Why don't you try and think about HIM on HIS birthday. Oh no, now he needs to spend time begging forgiveness instead of watching the playoffs. Way to go - loser.

A guy can only read a card once and feel something. Really can't keep reading it.

Completely agree with #48. You did the equivalent of him giving you an XBox game and then him playing it. You gave him something that no self-respecting guy would want. Really, guys don't like to acknowledge they have feelings let alone talk about them yet you give him something all about feelings that can make YOU feel good whenever you look at it. Sure if he was a great guy he could have pretended to like it but you gave him a gift you'd like instead of a gift he'd like, plain and simple.

Oh okay. I guess my partner isn't a self-respecting guy then; after all, to be a real man you have to be a wanker. What a child.
