Today, I parked in front of a grocery store and took the portable GPS system off the mount on the dashboard and put it in my pocket so no one would break into my car and steal it. When I got back, the window was smashed and someone had stolen the plastic mount. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I parked my car to go inside to grab my wallet than I'd forgotten. In the short time it took me to do that, someone broke two of my car's windows. FML
Today, I got a well paying job that requires me to drive around and present a product to potential customers. After going out for a victory meal with friends, I came home to find my car broken into, and my GPS stolen. I need it for the job. FML
Today, someone stole my laptop from my car. However, they were nice enough to relock the doors after they smashed in the window. FML
Today, my car was broken into. They broke the passenger side window and took my radio system. But they didn't take the remote for it. FML
Today, I was pointing out my car to my roommate. He responded with, "Oh that one with the broken window?" Turns out my car had been broken into. They took my CD player, GPS and Ipod. On top of that they left a Reese's Fastbreak wrapper and sunflower seeds on my front seat. FML
Ninja move
Today, I went to the post office. As I entered the building, my car alarm went off. Thinking I'd accidentally pressed the alarm on my keys, I shut it off without looking. When I returned to my car, the passenger window was demolished and my purse with all my money was gone. FML
Today, I replaced my car's windscreen wipers, after someone stole the last pair. After I finished, I went indoors for a drink. When I returned, the new ones had been stolen too. FML
Women be shopping
Today, I couldn't find my car in a mall parking lot. After 30 minutes of searching, I reported it stolen to the mall security. It turns out that I'd parked it on the opposite side of the mall. Security escorted me to my car, all while giving me pitiful looks. FML
Overreaction
Today, I accidentally hit someone's car while in the supermarket car park. I left a note, went shopping, and when I came back my windows were shattered, my tires were slashed, and "FUCK YOU" was written on my windshield. FML
Foolproof plan
Today, after my windshield wipers being stolen twice in a row, I decided to hide in my car to catch the thief. I fell asleep. When I woke up, the new wipers were gone. FML

everyone knows a plastic mount is why you have to pay the $150 for the GPS system. GPS Unit = $150 Broken Window = $250 Stolen Plastic Mount = Priceless

Sure they would. Leaving the mount sitting there means you HAVE a GPS, and most people just put it in their center console or glovebox when they're not in the car, not their pocket. So the thief probably assumed there was a GPS unit, then got irritated when there wasn't and took the mount to be a dick.

Wow, can you please make your ******* FML any faker? Honestly, how could anyone believe this? No thief would break a window just to steal a mount, unless it was made of gold. Do you even understand how theives operate? First off, you never break into a car unless it's completely worth it; you only steal petty stuff if the car is unlocked. It's only necessary to smash a window if you're going to steal the car or something like a TV from the car. Not for a ******* mount, so stop polluting FML with fake shit

Someone once smashed my car window in NZ and all they stole was a pad of plain paper and a belkin ipod charger. and there were surf boards and wet suits in the back.

Anyone else find it amusing how Poonheart seems to think he's the dogs bollocks by acting all tough by implying he knows how "theives operate." People are ******* stupid, this wouldn't surprise me whatsoever. Go die Poonheart :)

I'm pretty sure this "shit" isn't fake because somebody broke into my car because my gps CHARGER was out. People break into cars all the time just because they mount is out because they know that a gps could be in the car. Don't be such an ass poonheart. OP you should've taken off the mount alsoooo.

LMFAO @ dog's bollocks. Most hilarious saying I've ever heard.

I think that #51 is giving the lowlifes that take what doesn't belong to them waaaaay too much credit. Common sense is a rare and precious commodity amongst those "people."

Haha, that's absolutely hilarious xD And at the same time, it sucks because now you have to buy a new mount for your GPS =/

My car was broken into because I left the gps mount on the windscreen as well. The thief obviously assumed the gps was in the glovebox (it wasn't - I had it in my bag with me). The police said it happens all the time. Sometimes the thieves get lucky, sometimes they don't.

My dad did this in my car, but instead of taking it out he covered it with a hat, needless to say he was outsmarted and I lost valuable shit. FML too, man.

that is possibly the dumbest criminal act I've heard of in a while. I'd imagine they saw the mount and assumed it was in the car somewhere, though. FYL. also, 2nd? 3rd?
comment11111 39
That's probably exactly what happened. that is why one should also hide the plastic holder.
AntotoNEE 0
atleast you got your car and the gps but a expensive window to replace!
drybamboo 0
If you're going to bother taking out the GPS to prevent someone from seeing it and taking it, you should have also taken out the plastic mount. All that did was tell the thief that you had one and probably hid it in your glove compartment or under your seat.

At least he didn't lose his GPS system. I'm sorry, OP. That just sucks.
