Today, I overheard my daughter compliment my mother by saying "My mom is way flabbier than you, Grandma." When I told her later that she hurt my feelings, she told me to "man up." She's seven. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my daughter apparently has had enough of my mother-in-law's favoritism and constant bashing of me by telling her, "Grandma, might I highly recommend death at this point?" She's 7. FML
Today, my 8-year-old son told me to grow a pair and man up. FML
Nice family you've got there
Today, a 7-year-old girl came up to me and told me to go fuck myself. I told her to watch her language or else I'd tell her parents. Her mom happened to be nearby and actually heard the conversation; she came up to me and told me to go fuck myself as well. FML
Today, my grandfather told me that I was ugly. When my mom found out, she said that, "Old people are allowed to tell the truth." FML
Words is hard
Today, my seven year-old daughter called me a weirdo. When I yelled and grounded her, she cried and said she thought “weirdo” was a compliment. FML
Today, my 6-year-old daughter walked into the bathroom where I was grumbling about my weight. Seeing how upset I was, she took my hand and said, "Mom, you're not fat. You just look fat." FML
Today, my 7 year-old looked at me and stated, "When I grow up Mommy I want to be fat just like you." FML
Today, my grandmother said to me, "You look just like your mother did at your age. Except you're fatter of course." FML
Today, whilst trying on wedding dresses with my mom, she told me that I looked fat and awful in the dress I liked. When I told her how hurtful she was being, she told me that I should be grateful that she told me what she thought instead of laughing at me behind my back. FML
Say it ain't so
Today, I told my 8 year-old daughter that she looks a lot like mommy. Now she won't come out of her room because she thinks she's ugly. FML

The problem is that you took offense at what your daughter said. Kids say things like that, and when they say them, they're usually true. What were you trying to do, give your daughter a guilt-trip? It obviously didn't work.

DISCIPLINE. 19-its not just about the honesty, its about the inability for the child to feel remorse for saying hurtful things.

Had I been that disrespectful to my mother, I would have gotten a bitchslap across my mouth. Maybe you should teach your kid some manners instead of spending your time kvetching, hey?

When a 7 year old girl tells you to man up, that's a serious problem.

Kids say the darndest things...sounds like you should just take her out for some ice cream tubby and laugh about the whole situation.

If I had ever said that to my mom...she would have beaten the shit out of me. And I'm not afraid to say that I'd do the same. Kid's gotta show some respect.

Ha... your daughter would regret saying that if it had any serious thing to do with me or some other people. Friggin kids and their "manners" today...
