Today, I heard a loud crashing noise. I ran into the kitchen to see what it was. My cat had knocked over my fish bowl and had my Beta in her mouth. After scolding her and rescuing it, I decided to clean its bowl. When I went to dump some of the water in the sink, my fish went down the drain. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, as I was washing my boyfriend's fishbowl, the fish did a Nemo and made an unholy leap down the drain. My immediate impulse was to flip the switch. Our kitchen now smells like mutilated fish and my boyfriend won't speak to me. FML
Blending Nemo
Today, I was draining the water from my fishbowl out into the kitchen sink. The fish was still in it and decided to go with the flow, literally, right into the garburator. I was too scared to stick my hand down there to save it; instead I panicked and turned the garburator on. FML
Today, I bought a fish. I put the tank on top of the fridge so my cat wouldn't get at it. I'd forgotten to buy some things for its tank, so I quickly ran out to get them. When I got home, I saw the tank destroyed on the floor, and my cat devouring my fish. I had the fish for less than an hour. FML
Today, I bought a new Siamese Fighting Fish. I was so happy with my new fish so I bought him an expensive lovely bowl, some weeds, and a toy for the bowl. I left the room to get the fish food. When I returned, the fish was gone, and the cat was sitting on the table. FML
Today, I spent almost two hours cleaning my fish tank, only to find out that my cat had secretly eaten all of my fish while I was cleaning the tank. FML
Today, I bought a new goldfish. While leaving my fish on my balcony to go get fish food, I hear a loud squawk and splash, I race outside to see a bird flying off with my fish. FML
Not woke
Today, I was woken up by my phone alarm blaring at full volume. I grabbed it to hit snooze, but in my half-asleep state, I accidentally threw it across the room. It hit the wall, bounced off, and landed in my fish tank. My fish is fine. My phone is not. FML
Today, I bought a fish bowl and a fish for $15. I brought him home and sat him on my desk. Everything was going well until the shelf gave out and his bowl slid off of the shelf... onto my $2,000 computer. The computer is fried and is not covered by the insurance, the fish is fine. FML
Rescue cat
Today, my cat fell into the toilet, and I had to save him. I now have a soggy cat and scratched arms. FML
Little devil
Today, I decided to treat myself to a relaxing bubble bath. Mid-soak, I heard a loud crash and realized my cat had knocked over a shelf, sending shampoo bottles and bath salts tumbling into the water. Now I'm stuck cleaning up a soapy mess instead of enjoying my spa time. FML

Why didn't you put in the stopper or put the fish in a cup?

I'm sure your cat was pissed you threw away a perfectly good meal.

Deserved it you idiot. Never changed a fish bowl? I feel bad for the fish. Don't know about you.

Wow, congratulations on being both too inept to realize that your cat would try and hunt your fish, as well as apparently being completely unable to change your fish's water properly. If you insist upon having a fish, buy a small tank--NOT a bowl--with a hood.

That is not as bad as when I came home after a really REALLY shitty day to find my Betta fish on the kitchen floor in front of the door laying in it's own pool of blood. Apparently my cat thought it should give me a gift to cheer me up...She had to jump really high up onto the counter to get to it too...That was a sad day. I had to dispose of my fish and clean up it's blood. :(

yeah... highly unlikely, fish don't bleed like humans do so I'm not sure whose blood you were cleaning...

Just because they don't bleed like humans doesn't mean they don't bleed when they are punctured by sharp objects (i.e. my cats teeth). That was a couple years ago, so my memory might be a little fuzzy, but I know I cleaned up a pool of something it was laying in and it looked a lot like blood. I was kinda upset, didn't really think to check what it was.

you know, if people did RESEARCH on their living pets before they got them things like this wouldn't happen. bettas are tropical fish and keeping them in bowls DRASTICALLY shortens their lifespan which can be up to 10years in a properly heater and filtered tank of at least 2.5 gallons. these are living things that depend on you for proper care... not decorations.

YDI, but not because you dumped your fish down the sink, but because you own both a cat and fish
