Today, I had to buy a wrist brace for a repetitive strain injury. I got the injury because I was knitting too much. I'm 22. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had to buy a wrist splint for my carpal tunnel syndrome. Not because I'm a computer programmer or some hot shot web designer but because I spend ALL of my time playing Solitaire on my laptop. FML
Tunnel vision
Today, after years of being an avid knitter and typing for a living, I got carpal tunnel syndrome… from my wrists flopping around too much while I'm driving. I live half an hour away from the nearest city. FML
Stiff Little Fingers
Today, I found out that the stiffness I've been feeling in my hand is arthritis and that it's only going to get worse. Not only do I type for my job, I'm also 22. FML
Carry that weight
Today, I was getting up from sitting on the floor. I lent on the coffee table to help support my weight and heard a pop. I'd bruised the tendons in my wrist and now have to wear a wrist guard for 6 weeks. FML
Today, I found out that the lump in my wrist that keeps getting inflamed and sore is caused by sketching and using my laptop too much. Good thing I'm in my fourth year of studying to become a designer. FML
Today, a doctor examined my wrist, which is completely swollen and painful. He diagnosed a case of tendonitis and asked me, "Do you use this hand for a particular sort of sport?" I just smiled like a twit. FML
Today, I pulled a muscle. Not in any kind of sport or exercise, but while reaching for my computer mouse. FML
Fake it til you make it
Today, I sprained an arm muscle while pretending to lift weights. FML
Today, I injured my knee during dance class. When it started to feel a little bit better, I tried dancing again. I tripped, fell, and broke my wrist. FML
Today, I sprained my wrist while trying to grate a block of frozen cheese. FML

suck it up. all worthwhile hobbies come with hazards. and if you class this as an FML because you knit at 22, then yes, FYL for not having more pride in things you enjoy doing.

78 i totally agree with you. I don't understand why everyone is like "shame on you for knitting" it's a perfectly find hobby. I'm 18 and I've been knitting since I was 16, it doesn't mean that we're old or boring. It just means that we're good with our hands. And yes I mean that in every possible way. Although if you're knitting so much to get a repetitive strain injury it's probably a good idea to pace yourself and maybe go out once and a while.
